It would be cool if someone who makes a lot of resin conversion parts made more conversion kits/add ons for Imports/sport compacts. I've looked up SAS before but never really knew if it was a legit site or not (hadn't seen anyone speak of buying any parts from them on here). There are a lot of Tamiya/Aoshima/Fujimi kits of cars that had OEM factory ground effects and wheels that were never offered in kit form. At least Revell made some for their tuner line. Personally I'd like to see TRD, Mugen, Spoon, Tom's, Veilside, NISMO, Mazdaspeed, etc parts made.

But they did...Not to a great extent. But they tried.

I believe Seb was the guy who bought SAS, and he did have someTRD and Veilside pieces at one point. I saw them in person at ``Le Hobby Shop`` here in Quebec, along with some other bodykits. The last time I was there was about six years ago just before I took a break from the hobby. Since I`ve started building again I tried to go back to his shop but it was no longer there, nor does he seem to be reachable online..

I agree . I think we need more people in the hobby to make suff for imports,im geting tired of triying to make them myself.I like all cars the same old and new,but for the life of me why are imports shunned. Imho i dont feel they Dont get the the attenion they deserve. I've owned 2 honda crxs 1 civic and a eclipse. All vary good cars. I also owned a 96 neon,93 ranger and currently a 59 ford f100 none of which I would complain about.

It's the same with any other niche modelling category other than the standard classics ('57 Chevy), hot rods ('32 Fords), and musclecars ('69 Camaro)- there just aren't enough potential customers to make specific parts (say, a Veilside front, side and rear body kit for a '95-'99 Neon sedan) worth the effort of mastering, casting, and selling. I'm sure if someone stepped up and created a nice master part(s), someone would cast it, but how many could the caster expect to sell? They'd probably need to sell at least ten sets of each specific body kit to break even. And then they'd get the "why didn't ABC Resin make that body kit for a 'XX (insert manufacturer name here) (insert model name here)???" cries. There are hundreds of possibilities and when the parts aren't universal, you have to be really sure what you choose to produce. Just food for thought. B)

I thought the consensus on the XS Tuning wheels was they were just too small in diameter and scaled out to 16" in 1/25 scale? I suppose the XS Tuning ad post in General could be bumped...

SAS is still around, but as has been mentioned, not nearly in the same capacity as before. The guy who owns it now seems to be more into off-road model products than tuner stuff. I do know Sebastian is a regular on the Off Road Models forum.

I like the XS Tuning wheels, and it was only recently that I learned about them. If there are people here who aren't fond of them, shoot send 'em my way and I will happily pay for them or trade for 'em. I'll find something to put them on LOL. Seriously I do understand that from a business standpoint it is a longshot that NON universal sport compact parts wouldn't really make too much profit. But then again, how many people do you guys really know that would absolutely not buy any parts if they were of good quality and priced right? I'd take a Dodge Neon set for the Brookfield Promos as well as one for EVERY tuner car kit I have. Heck I'd even get them for the luxury cars and make a nice VIP style car. Yes, there are kits already made but those only have large wheels and sometimes some audio equipment. Whether or not tuner car kits are as popular as muscle cars/classics, there are still LOTS of us out there who would jump on these if someone made them. Make a complete front/rear lip, sidesirts, rear spoiler, and maybe hood and list them for $10.

If someone made a conversion kit so I could make this:

I would probably buy like 5 sets JUST for this car. Not even joking, this goes for several other overlooked (but made in plastic) Imports/Domestic sport compacts. I'm only 1 potential customer, how many more of us are out there itching for somebody to make this stuff? Keep in mind all the people who would buy them off ebay and consider if an ad was put in MCM mag (and the other mag), that would reach all the builders who may not get online on this site to see this so they too could give their feedback for this? I understand the need to be realistic, if someone added these sorts of parts to their resin inventory that would be awesome. Man I wish I had the skills and know how to scratchbuild this stuff, oh the possibilities LOL.

There are some resin trans kits being for tuner cars, but the sets sell for way north of $20 , if any one is going to be making tuner parts, I think it will be hobby design, but what I have seen, most of the trans kits they make are for sports/excoitc cars.

Yes I have seen some of their transkits sell for three times what a kit costs. I have a set of wheels coming from HD , I hope I have better luck with them .

count me in. It doesn't have to be crazy body kits or big wings. I'd be happy wit lip kits, hoods, side skirts . I like the idea of the VIP to as I am making a Lexus ls400 right now that I made my own kit for.

Now I am getting a little nervous about the set I bought, I have seen them being used all the time on a UK forum, and never read anyone saying anything bad about them. But I look at it this way, the set of wheels I bought cost me $2.00, so not a big lose if the crack or break

not sure if the wheels i posted came in any kits or not. the resin wheels i posted are Enkei RPF's, 17" in size. Fujimi did a similar looking wheel, the Racing Hart CP-035's but they are smaller and only really "look" at best to be a scale 15" wheel. they are also very shallow faced in that they'd probably only look right on a front wheel drive car. the spokes of the Fujimi CP-035's actually stick out past the rim lip by a decent amount.

Yeah I think your right because it did look small on my rx
