AMT Pacemakers Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) My first one finished this year, Enjoy.... Robert Edited January 20, 2012 by Coker Creek Speed Shop
mikemodeler Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Just wait until Dr. Cranky sees this one, he will go nuts! Nice job Robert, great weathering and I really like the Sinclair decals. Do you have any additional pictures?
AMT Pacemakers Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 Thanks, don't have any other pics, the engine is just a box stock build,[small block} and the chassis is just too nasty to show. Robert
Dr. Cranky Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Crazy indeed! Wow, there's so much wonderful rusting and weathering on this vehicle, and I love the contrast the wheels make. Nice model. Yes, additional pictures in better light would be appreciated. Nice job! Keep the eye candy coming!
AMT Pacemakers Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 Sorry I'm no photo pro, just getting by!! Suggestions? I noticed in the first pic that the top of the door has a glare, in real time the model has no shine on it at all.. Robert
cruz Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 No science my friend, go outside and place it in front of a white or light gray background, this way it will keep the focus more on your model after you take the pictures. Great job!
CorvairJim Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 My first thought was that this can't be plastic. I thought it was an old Tonka, Structo, or "Buddy L " toy that had been left outside for a couple of decades and had a new set of wheels put on it. The rust job and weathering is that good! The only suggestion I could make is to highlight some of the faded trim to make it look like it might once have been chromed. (My SECOND thought was that this has to be Mater's cousin!) GREAT JOB!!!
Adam deCoste Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 That looks great, nice job rusting that plastic
crazyjim Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Oh my gosh. All that rust and no shine. Nice job though.
Dominik Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 The weathering and rust looks perfect and real to me. Great Job! More pics outside please!!!
Sixties Sam Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Very nice weathering job! Looks like it sat out in the rain forever! Sam
mopargreg Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Wow thats great, the weathering looks fantastic. Have you got any tips on how you got that weathering look? What products did you use?
glusnifr Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 WOW great job ,i thought it was actual rusted metal
Kustom Rodder Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Very cool pickup and nice job on the weathering.
