this is the first bottle of this stuff (used up three already) that has given me this particular gripe: it sometimes flows normally (like thinned white glue) and sometimes it flows like WATER... usually spraying bubbles of glue across my "glass" while i'm trying to get it in place... necessitating backing up, cleaning that part and starting again. and it's not consistent in it's consistency... aggravating enough to halt progress for the night. i've read that some of you use clear paint... bottled clearcoat? for this job. does it tack up quickly? more importantly, is it forgiving of clumsy nearsighted old men with failing eyesight?

I quit using it because it turns brown over time. Not every time, but frequently enough for me. I use Elmer's type glue or five minute epoxy to fasten clear pieces.

I picked up a bottle of canopy glue from the LHS. It looks like everyday white glue but it does have some different properties. It bonds to plastic very well. I have actually used this stuff to attach body parts to painted surfaces. It won't damage the paint and sticks very well. It is also water proof.

I use a toothpick to apply it to the windshield frame and then drop the windshield in place. Works like a charm.

I guess it is for RC planes but I picked it up for use on my model aircraft canopies. They are a pain to attach without causing damage to the glass or the paint. I have used normal white glue and it does work well but over time the canopies would break off when handled.

I started using it on my model cars for the very same reason. This glue remains flexible like rubber and can take the vibrations a model can endure while shipping or transporting to contests.

560 Canopy Glue is the best white glue on the market. I use it for allot more than clear parts.

I agree, I glue body parts on as well. I glued the rear wings on my McDonalds funny car with it. It sets up very fast and does not damage the paint. I have also used it to glue mirrors, bumpers, and anything that needs to touch the paint.

Try Micro Scale Krystal Klear, just use a tooth pick with a few attachment points and drop the glass in place. As the name implies it dries clear.

I'm curious, has anyone else had this problem of turning brown? I use the Testers stuff all the time, not only to fasten glass but to also use as gauge glass. I will also use it for light lenses. I hate the thought of my builds turning brown.
