Lownslow Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 all testors paint from primer to clear it has a dark sun tan on the roof unfortunately from a retouch attempt
crazyjim Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 That is pretty and just goes to prove that SHINY :) RULES!
LAone Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 i like it man. its just a classic look. jim, you're obsessed with shiney aren't ya!?
crazyjim Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Hey Luis - if it ain't shiny, I don't even want to look at it. Just kiddiing. I can appreciate the work people go through to achieve a rusty, crusty finish, but I've been trying for over 50 years to get a shiny paint job and I'm not going to quit.
Harry P. Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Nice and clean, but... Wipers painted body color? And no mirrors, either inside or out?
Lownslow Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Nice and clean, but... Wipers painted body color? And no mirrors, either inside or out? call it a maaco special. i wasnt about to try my luck putting that dinky mirror on, i hate rearview mirrors in general none of my models have them
CorvairJim Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I watched every episode of "Overhaulin' " that I could and one thing I noticed: Chip Foose NEVER put the mirrors back on the doors!
my66s55 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Nicely done and box stock too, except for the mirrors.
espo Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Very nice. Can't see the problem with the roof you talked about.
Cato Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 A black vinyl top with BMF trim at the base will fix your roof boo boo. Will also be the clone of my 396 / 375 bought brand new then-except I had the SS wheels.
Alan_hornet Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Pretty nice, I did same model but mines in orange with custom silver strips

Chuck Most Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I have no idea what 'box stock' means, but whatever it is, I like it.
Lownslow Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 heres the roof before with the damage made visible attempt one was a massive fail, in theory the testors is supposed to be "hot" to the spray glue it is but i sprayed it too light it only worked on a small part but because i sprayed too light, 2nd attempt was a success
scalenut Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 not bad , cut a few corners but not bad at all !
