Dave B
This is a build of the initial 2C release by L&S. It came with the white metal IDA webers, reasonable interior and correct wheels, the same as included in the Modellers/Fujimi 2D. It has since been re-released by Arii but has terrible 'thingy' wheels and no IDA webers, just a set of straight tubes. The interior may also be a little more toy like. Tks for looking Dave B

Crazy Ed
Nice job on the 2C Dave. Yep the ARII kit is ..................... lacking in many areas. Do you happen to have closer shots of your cockpit/insturment panel area ?
Cato
Yes, closer shots please! Beautiful build. Your photo backdrop is also great--how did you make that?
jaydar
Nice build, where do I get one? joe.

Monty
I'm a huge Chaparral fan too, so it's nice to see this one available. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a site for L&S. There is a Lance Sellers resin site, but it seems to be mostly F1/Indy cars. Would you mind spotting us a link to where you bought this? RancheroSteve
I'm under the impression that kit's been out of production for quite a few years. Your best bet might be that well known auction site. I have one that I picked up at a swap meet at least 15 years ago. I'm working on a 2D now, and I think the 2C is next after that. Harry P.
Very nice, clean work! (but I'm pretty sure the "66" on the sides would have been split at the panel line)...
sjordan2
Nothing "toy-like" on this build, Beautiful job on a rare kit.
Dave B
OK guys, thanks for the kind words. I'll try & answer all the questions!!! Ed: I'll take a couple more pics & post shortly. I don't generally take 'close-ups' because I don't have a macro lens but will see what I can do. Cato: it's just MDF with printable scenery glued on (I cheated!!) see http://www.cgtextures.com Joe, Allen, Monty: The best place to get the Arii release is Hobbylink Japan. http://www.hlj.com/ They may not have it available at the moment but it is ALWAYS re-released so check there frequently. Bare in mind you will not get the webers or good wheels. The L&S release would be virtually impossible to find, you could check E-Bay from time to time. Harry: you're quite right, there are other flaws as well, I have not 'meshed out' the centre panel on the rear. I have actually thought of buying a L&S release and doing a cleaner build, I would just transfer all the bits across. Dave B
Jon Cole
At one time, Perry's Resin cast those wheels. I was able to use them on my 2D.
Dave B
Ed, interior shot as promised Since Fujimi has re-released Modeller's 2D these wheels are now readily available at a reasonable price. Another reason to do a body swap is the mesh areas are very shallow. I DIDN"T mask them off and should have. After acrylic undercoat & auto top coat I lost the opportunity to do a nice clear wash in the vent areas!! Dave B
Crazy Ed
Thanks Dave. My Avatar is what it is because of my interest in Jim Hall's Cars since they were New. The only White Chaparral 2* I don't have a kit for is the 2G. Again Very Nice Job there.
