Stang88 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 The title says it all. Post your opinions. I would have to say for quality of mold, fit, my vote goes to the 69 Nova kits.
Eshaver Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I'll go for the 62 Chevrolet Impala . Ed Shaver
mikemodeler Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 The 72 Cutlass is a nice kit, although I haven't built mine yet. Their 66 Impala is another nice one, gotta get mine finished.
Bartster Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 '67 Chevelle SS is the best I've seen so far, although I haven't seen many yet.
Chuck Most Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Hands down, IMHO, the '72 Cutlass. Any gripes about it I have would fall in to the realm of petty nit-picking, but I will say I'd love them to introduce a formal hardtop variant... the sooner the better!
Casey Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 but I will say I'd love them to introduce a formal hardtop variant... the sooner the better! Don't start, Most! You know the fastback's coming next!! Do you mean a new or modified kit versus a straight re-issue?
Darin Bastedo Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 It wasn't in the past ten years but my money is on the 1966 GTO
Harry P. Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I like the Lindberg Plymouth/Dodge 300/Petty/Color Me Gone family and the Revell '67 GTX (not sure if they fall into the "last 10 years" category).
car-man666 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 i have to go with Eshaver, the 62 chevy is ,a great and well done kit, real close is the 57 bel air pro shop, my opinion
george 53 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Revel's NON pro series 69 Charger, their 69 Camaro, and Lindburgs 66 Chevelle!!!!
car-man666 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I like the Lindberg Plymouth/Dodge 300/Petty/Color Me Gone family and the Revell '67 GTX (not sure if they fall into the "last 10 years" category). and the 67 gtx,,,,,, god help...super kits
Danno74 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I'd have to say the 69 Nova SS is a pretty good kit with plenty of detail. So far I'm not having any issues with it.
Harry P. Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Duh! I just realized the question was about best REVELL kits. Ignore my previous post.
Casey Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 i kind of feel like Revell peaked with the '64 Thunderbolt kit and the '69 Camaro's. i know that's from before 10 years ago, but i don't think they've done anything as good as either of those since. some good kits since, but not that good. '69 Charger (post-Pro Modeler chopped top fiasco) and its variants? '69 Dart GTS? I think the '69 Charger R/T, '69 Charger Daytona, and '68 Charger R/T are darn nice kits and will hold their own for another 15 years.
Erik Smith Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I'll go for the 62 Chevrolet Impala . Ed Shaver I'm with Ed on this one. Excellent all the way - except the missing cap on the battery. Really, this is one of the nicest models ever - Revell, AMT, et al...
'08SEAL Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 My favorite kit is th 68 Dart. Its the best IMO
Rob McKee Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 '69 Charger (post-Pro Modeler chopped top fiasco) and its variants? '69 Dart GTS? I think the '69 Charger R/T, '69 Charger Daytona, and '68 Charger R/T are darn nice kits and will hold their own for another 15 years. I will second this in a heart beat. Along with the 68 Charger special ediion.
Guest Sickfish Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I will second this in a heart beat. Along with the 68 Charger special ediion. I'll triple it! The 68 special edition isn't any different though... But I'll add the '68 Dick Landy kit, as it come's with Dandy Dick Landy figure ;-) Also, I don't think it would be fair to NOT include AMT kits, specifically their '71 Charger kit... Awesome kit & very accurate. Cheers Cliffo
MikeMc Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 i kind of feel like Revell peaked with the '64 Thunderbolt kit and the '69 Camaro's. i know that's from before 10 years ago, but i don't think they've done anything as good as either of those since. some good kits since, but not that good. I hate to admit it but Dave is correct......Both favorites...great looks and great builds!

Erik Smith Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I have to revise my answer here too - the '62 Impala is nice, but not technically a muscle car. 68 Charger.
Guest Dr. Odyssey Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 (edited) What defines a Muscle Car in this discussion? Some would say Camaros and Mustangs are Pony Cars, Corvettes are Sports Cars, and anything with a certain size engine or enough HP is a Muscle Car. For example is a 1970 427 Caprice a Muscle Car?
