caine440 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 It is finally done. I tired a lot of new things on this one and not all of them worked out well, but it is a learning experience. Thanks for looking!
W-409 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Turned out real Nice Pro Stocker! Really great job overall, the body looks very good to me. That paintjob is shiny and smooth, engine detail looks very good too, I really like this one.
Dragline Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Killer paint Roger. What did you try that didn't work out? Can't see anything amiss from here bud. Gorgeous. Bob
Bartster Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I gotta agree with the others, I don't see any boo boos!
1320wayne Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Awesome job Roger. Each new build just gets better and better.
AZ Boy Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 VERY well done Roger. You are the Pro Stock Guru, my friend.
JPolli Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Roger Kudos on the build. Thanks for posting.
caine440 Posted February 11, 2012 Author Posted February 11, 2012 Thanks everyone. I have been waiting to tackle this one because of the unique hood and the paint is very challenging for me. Don at Reliable Resin came through for me with the stuff I needed to graft a hood together. The chassis is from a old W.J. Pro Stock kit. I opened the rear wheels wells slightly on the body and added the clear headlights and turn signals. The distributor is from M.A.D. and there is a cool photo etched lenco shifter from futureattractions. The tin work under the hood is from shim stock cut and formed. Thanks again.
MyBradKeselowski Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Superb ! ! ! Matches photo perfectly IMO
Romell R Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Great Job looks like it all worked out good!
gasser59 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 That is really something to be proud of. The 'new things that didn't work out' were only for you. Looks like a great build to me. I'd be thrilled to show that on my shelf.
Mister Twister Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 You are the replica king on these vintage pro stock builds..,Beautiful build!
Reeves Racing Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I love Landy's Prostocks. I want to do his Challenger that has a similar paint job. Yours looks spot on. Is it all paint or did you find or make some decals?
dragin70s Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Jumpin' on the bandwagon, lovin' this one. Great subject and great job replicating it.
caine440 Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 The thin stripes and sponsorship decals are from Slixx. The rest is all paint. Here is the Challenger I made last year with the similar paint job. Again thank you all!
1972coronet Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Another spectacular build ! The golden era of Pro Stock (before the name became bastardised) , with Body-In-White cars . I'm sure that Dandy Dick would approve of your craftsmanship
Reeves Racing Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 The thin stripes and sponsorship decals are from Slixx. The rest is all paint. Here is the Challenger I made last year with the similar paint job. Again thank you all! Thanks Roger, I know which decals you are talking about now. I am going to get my self a set. I will be happy if my build turns out half as nice as yours!
caine440 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Slixx has a nice set for the Dart but never got the Challenger and Omni decals done before shutting down. That is a shame too, I am still going to build the Omni but thier decals do make it a easier task.
