tyrone Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 Yeah I did many years ago... It's in my photobucket... I have plans to do another one sometime down the road, was trying to wait till I get my new engine though alot of changes have been made to the car since I did the model of it...
bandit1 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 wow....nice idea with the sportsman chassis....how do you think it fits with a revell 69 camaro body?
Mister Twister Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Looking good Tyrone...The vinyl top is a novel idea. Anxious to see more.
tyrone Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 wow....nice idea with the sportsman chassis....how do you think it fits with a revell 69 camaro body? Sean, it fits just fine with just a few minor adjustments, this one was done with a sportsman chassis also...
bandit1 Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 NICE!....now i have to find a chassis and one of those knarley scopes!
tyrone Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 alright fellas, I've got the body work all wrapped up on the cowl hood and the rear wheel wells, I put in the steering shaft housing, and laid on a coat of primer... thanks for looking and comments welcome...
crowe-t Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 I'm starting to think the sportsman chassis' are used more for custom projects then with their original 55/57 bodies. One of these days I have to pick up a Revell Sportsman 55 kit and use it to build an early Camaro.
tyrone Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 Alright fellas, I got the chassis painted today and made up the front struts from the ones that come with the kit, more updates soon...
Mooneyzs Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Tyrone...you are making killer progress man. this thing is looking awesome!
tyrone Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 Thanks Wayne and Chris, I appreciate it...
Dragracer Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 The cars coming out real nice Tyrone, has the body been reprimered in a light blue or is it the camera flash?, it looks light blue in the new photos & A "normal" gray in the others.
W-409 Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Nova is looking great so far. Body is great in primer, and that scoop fits nicely to Nova body shapes. I like the chassis too. Painting is great, and I would say that you make this things looks so easy to do, even if they aren't so easy.
eviltwincustoms Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Ummmm Tyrone, you are frustrated with this build and want to stop and give the project away.. Because you want to build a 1/16th car.... Hopefully my JEDI mind trick is working.. Man you realize the thing keeping me from building up something like this is because I am in the Philippines. This has to be my favorite so far. I have to ask, because I don't know this body style that well. The back trunk section, on the real car do they really have no section. Between the back window and the trunk lid?
tyrone Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 Thanks Bart.. I'm glad you like it, this has turned into my new favorite also... I'm going to add a thin piece of sheet styrene to the bottom side of it and put a couple of mounting tabs on it... I need you guys help on a factory yenko color for it....
Dragracer Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Tyrone, I just looked up different color options for Yenkos, I saw no color options listed for the '69 Nova, however I did see colors for the '69 Camaro & '70 Nova, I would guess either could work for the '69 Nova, here are the colors : ('69 Camaro): Daytona Yellow,Fathom Green,Hugger Orange,LeMans Blue,Olympic Gold & Rally Green. ('70 Nova): Cortez Silver,Cranberry Red,Fathom Blue,Forest Green,Gobi Gold,Citrus Green,Hugger Orange & Sunflower Yellow, all the colors ran either White or Black Stripes. Hope this helps you out.
hOLMS Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I vote for orange with black wheels and anodized gold bead locks....Tyrone, this is outstanding, one serious Nova!!
Bjay Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 1 word Gangster love it your 1:1 car is tough as
