chuckyr Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Oteri, you need to change your handle to "Day Cab King"!
The70judgeman Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 (edited) I learned how to drive tractor/trailer in a Transtar 4300 for my former job. Way under powered for the job we were using it for though. It was our "yard dog". It was fine most of the time...until we loaded 60' concrete double T's (TT's) for parking decks and had to go park the trailer. Easy to drive though. Sorry...no pics. pete3522 Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 bandit 1 I built this kit one time when i was a teen and it was pretty simple build and i didnt even paint it but even with the molded color and the decals it still looked awesome i actually want to do this kit again and the transtar eagle cabover the sleeper door and luggage compartment open if i remember right it goes well with the logging trailer or if remember right i paired it up with the tri-axle dump kit it looked awesome
rctruk Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Here is one that I'm working on.Cab is painted teal, frame is gloss black...looks much better in natural light...lol

cam Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Somehow I missed this post,Here is my version of this truck. this is a fun truck to build, the only problem that I found with it is the front axle is to far back.
cowboysevens Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Somehow I missed this post,Here is my version of this truck. this is a fun truck to build, the only problem that I found with it is the front axle is to far back. Id post my mystic green day cab up here but after you seen this one its all down hill lol. This truck reminds me of just how them binders looked back in the day. and he added a big horse to boot!! I'm actually workin on a 9300 right now with a 60" stand up pullin a reefer. I just can't post any pics right now, dang satelite internet is out so I'm stuck on my phone. If ya wanna see mine search mystic transtar , not real impressive but it was my first build in almost 20 years.
bandit1 Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 i think i got some colors down in my head....next thing is ...rear hendricksen suspension on it....does anyone have photos for use of referance material to make it a working suspension? ive about googled out! and the front suspension has problems...what is the best way to fix it?
Chuck Most Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I haven't started mine yet, but here's what I'm shooting for-
bandit1 Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 (edited) axle is fixed....now question.... Would Color Place brand and PPG AUTOMOTIVE GRADE pain have any negative effects or anything? Edited March 25, 2012 by bandit1
bandit1 Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 Don't use Color Place Primer for the PPG. Color Place is an enamel and PPG is a lacquer, the lacquer paint is too hot for an enamel primer, especially Color Place ok...i guess i need to find a can of silver somewhere? ....thanks anthony....
cam Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 (edited) this is one ive been slowly workn on Thats going to be sharp Kevin.. Edited March 26, 2012 by cam
bandit1 Posted March 26, 2012 Author Posted March 26, 2012 I don't think it's worth the risk, unless you have something to do a test on i have a steady supply of plastic spoons if that helps?
bandit1 Posted March 26, 2012 Author Posted March 26, 2012 Try it out on a spoon, just keep in mind that the plastic might not be quite the same as kit styrene is the spoons the same plastic as the amt ihc 4300 kit?
Paiste Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Hello folks, I'm new on this forum and thought this is a good topic for a "Try Out". So here are some pics from my Transtar 4300. Hope you like it. Greets, Albert
BigBad Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Albert, this is a very nicely done International I like the weathering and the connector hose and wire details in back. Truck looks really good.
Jim B Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Very nice Transtar. Great job. I like the subtle weathering.
