TooOld Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 (edited) This is my idea of a Manx that is not built for off-road . It is for cruisin' the beach during the day and the drive-in at night . I lowered the ride height 1/8 inch and used the tires from the AMT '62 Vette . The paint is Krylon Orange Glitter Blast over Pumpkin Orange . I scratch built the soft top , seat cushions , and tail lights . To finish it off I printed my own license plate ! Your comments and suggestions are welcome . I have lots of pictures so enjoy and Thank You ! Edited March 3, 2020 by TooOld

Dr. Cranky Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Beach ready and adorable, that's what I would say. Nice work.
jaymcminn Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 That is VERY cool. I've never seen that Glitter Blast paint before- it's perfect for this build!
Badluck 13 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 NICE!!!!!,love the Flake, awesome job on the top and seats, the lowering makes it look just right, makes me want to un-bury my 1:1 in the garage and get it going again............
Draggon Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I dig it! The flakey paint and whitewalls set it apart from the norm. Heck you even made those ugly amt tires look good. Great work!
TooOld Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 Thanks for the comments guys . I'm surprised no one complained about the wide whites . Dr. Cranky , Adorable ? I could handle cute or something , but adorable ? Just kidding . . . Thanks for the compliment .
Dr. Cranky Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 (edited) Robert, yes, it's cute, and actually I keep coming back to look at it again because of all that glitter. I would love to see this one in person. I think it's got all the right amount of charm/bling. Job well done. Have you considered building a small base for it? Some sand, a surfboard, etc . . . I think it'd look extra cool against such a scene. Edited April 6, 2012 by Dr. Cranky
Badluck 13 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Thanks for the comments guys . I'm surprised no one complained about the wide whites . Are you kiddin'?,that just makes it even more of a "Beach Cruiser"..."Surfs Up!!!"
TooOld Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 Dr . Cranky , If you ever get out and wander toward Tampa , give me a holler .
Jon Cole Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Diggin' the wide whites! Manx is versitile enough to be a boulevard cruiser.
TooOld Posted April 7, 2012 Author Posted April 7, 2012 Diggin' the wide whites! Manx is versitile enough to be a boulevard cruiser. Thanks Jon . I'm glad every one likes the white walls . Gives it a personality !
rmvw guy Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I don't know how I missed this one! This is one cool looking beach buggy worthy of bringing back to the top! I just finished mine so I was looking around at others.
Sixties Sam Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I missed this one too. It's a beauty! Great looking soft top. Sam
