Dr. Cranky Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 For those of you who haven't seen this yet, you are in for a treat. This is Jim "Hollywood" Fernandez's new "NAUTILUS SUBMARINE" THEMED room.
Joker Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 League of Extraordinary Gentlemen with a twist of Steampunk!
rmvw guy Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) A little claustrophobic to me. A lot of work went in to this so, what ever floats your boat. Edited April 23, 2012 by rmvw guy
Dr. Cranky Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 Jim has always wanted to build a room like this, and he got it done. This is where he plans to build lots of new models and dioramas, and I guess the idea is to have the inspiration all around him. He's crazy about STEAMPUNK.
Jantrix Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) I'm not sure that I get the point... The point is, how cool is it to build dioramas in, what amounts to, a 1:1 scale diorama? It would be like building model cars in the pits at Indy. To build works of art in a ROOM that is itself a work of art? Man, that's too cool. Edited April 23, 2012 by Jantrix
Dr. Cranky Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 Rob, that's what Jim set out to do, and now that he's retired, he's always wanted to have a room like this. We all have our dreams, right?
Draggon Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Thats way over the top cool, but I think I might be concerned if the boys in blue ever visited my house. Could you imagine trying to 'splain' that?
crazyjim Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 That is really cool! Probably going to kill the resale value of the house, but very cool anyway. I have to show Marcia that video. I've been wanting to do my office in corregated tin roof material with metal looking shelves & stuff. She says no way. I could do it in the shop but then I'd have to stop building models for too long.
Dr. Cranky Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 Mr. Hollywood is now all moved in and ready to start building more models and dioramas . .. Wishing you many great years of inspiration in this room, Jim.
