Harry P. Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 But that should have gone under the mesh, not over it...
Dr. Cranky Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 But that should have gone under the mesh, not over it... LOL! It's--how can I put it, Harry--voluminous? HA! Yes, I gotta clean up that G-string material. I did spray over it. If it every falls off it will be a patchy, splotchy . . . well, I can't say it here! Thank you, Ira. I really like the contrast too. A few more dollar bills on the floor and some girly mags and it should be good to go.
cobraman Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 You could have used some of Kens funny fur ! Oh no, did I say that ? Sorry
Dr. Cranky Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 You could have used some of Kens funny fur ! Oh no, did I say that ? Sorry LOL, RAY, that would be totally unruly, wouldn't it? It would look like one of those UNRULY + NAME OF US PRESIDENT IN 2002.
Brendan30 Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Dr. where did you get the bee hive oil filter from?
Dr. Cranky Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 Brendan, it comes with the Revell "LIMITED EDITION" 49 Merc kit. This kit is full of goodies, including a pretty sweet engine.
Dr. Cranky Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 It's one of my favorite all-time kits, so you will have fun with it. It always builds into a nice model . . . Have fun and enjoy the styrene journey. All right, folks, here's a video UPDATE . . .
John Teresi Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Dr. .......that rear end looks great!!!!....... I can`t tell if it is a Cactus or a Tumbleweed?.......but,i gotta tell ya.....talking about eating popcorn?.....this is the best show of all time to eat some popcorn and watch the show
Dr. Cranky Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 Dr. .......that rear end looks great!!!!....... I can`t tell if it is a Cactus or a Tumbleweed?.......but,i gotta tell ya.....talking about eating popcorn?.....this is the best show of all time to eat some popcorn and watch the show Thanks, John. Personally I stay away from such establishments that serve those all-you-can-eat buffets. I try not to mix my pleasure. LOL! I should have this vehicle finished in the next couple of days, and then I can focus on the theater, and when the lights arrive, I can start the show. Thanks for the generosity of spirit and comments. Best, DC
Dr. Cranky Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 What I love about this kit is how easy it all comes together. I am currently working on the engine, so this one is going to get wrapped up in the next few days here . . . Here's some progress: I really do like the fact that you can still some of the interior through the mesh on the heart.
Dr. Cranky Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 My favorite angle because I really like those pasties . . .
Sixx Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Oh man that's a trip Doc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( insert " wolf " whistle )
Dr. Cranky Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Thanks, Derrick . . . I just have the engine to finish and this one will be done. I'm still missing a few details, like the side mirror, etc . . .
Kustom Rodder Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Interior looks great Doc the build is coming along very nice .
Tommy Kortman Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Hey Doc, This has been a fantastic build to follow. I love the idea. Gotta ask...for the $$, did you just photo reduce actual currency? Can't wait to see the finished product.
Dr. Cranky Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Tommy, thank you. If you go to GOOGLE IMAGE and punch in DOLLAR BILL you'll get a whole bunch of graphics you can photo reduce to make fake money. I printed them up between 1/4 and 1/2 inch just because if you go too small, you really can appreciate the look.
Brendan30 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Doc, what did you use for the Leopard print? is printed on paper?
Dr. Cranky Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Brendan, yes, it's printed paper coated in Dullcoat or art fixative on both sides so that the ink don't bleed . . . Thank you for all the generous comments, my friends, stay tuned in for more progress. I've got all the engine parts painted and ready for assembly.

Dr. Cranky Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Here are some lights that I think are going to come in handy for models and dioramas, and I plan to use them on this build. Watch the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hotYkboShxc:
crazyjim Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I think the term "rode hard and put away wet" describes the Merc and the stage. Way to go, Virg.
