Harry P. Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Bill you got that right on the money that is a acton proformace car right out of the box thank u for backing me up man Post a link to the diecast. I want to see proof.
Haubenschild Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 (edited) Here are all the "Fedex ground" Action performance die cast models http://diecastcarsno...lin-c-2_36.html Edited May 8, 2012 by Haubenschild
JamesW Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 This may not be diecast, but it's a PROMO, meaning already built. I just added the repo self loader to it. Does this not belong here either since I didn't build it? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=57239
jaymichaelsdesigns Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 sorry i type way to fast guys whoever showed me those models you might have proved me wrong but i still say the cars i looked at were Die Cast cars.

george 53 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Actually,I have to agree with Harry, even IF it IS a die cast,it's STILL a model. I wanted a 41 Chevy coupe, there was one made by Testors, a Die cast, all I did was strip it, repaint it and made it the way I wanted it. It looks pretty nice too. THEN RMR comes out with a Steve Zimmerman mastered coupe, and I bought and am working on it. It IS resin, but hey, it's STILL a MODEL of a 41 Chevy coupe. Some of us enjoy building JUST TO DO IT, so what difference does it make about what media it's made from?
kruleworld Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 . If someone buys a diecast and alters it in anyway, why aren't they allowed to post it? In Diecast circles these are categorized as a 'Code 3' (whatever that means). Some guys can do amazing paint/decal work.
Chuck Most Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 The diecast vs. plastic argument in the modeling hobby is about as pointless (and dare I say idiotic?) as the steel vs. fiberglass arguement in the hot rodding hobby. A model could be made of laminated tissue paper and I'd build it if I liked the subject.
martinfan5 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I like diecast because it lets me build or have subjects that most likely will never be in a plastic kit form
JamesW Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 But you are not claiming you built it, thats a big difference, If someone wants to post work they did to a diecast, fine, just dont try and pass it off as something you built, be honest, say its a diecast and that you did work on it. Agreed. However, he never said he built it as a plastic kit. This is what he said: "Thought I'd post my most recent build. Modified nose and wheel openings, fuel filler and overflow and flipped exhaust to right, added dash wiring, antenna and roof camera pod." It could be considered a "build" as he obviously took it apart to add dash wiring along with the other mods. I just think this is being taken too far.
62rebel Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 i've suspected several models i've seen posted of being "more than they are".... but if the poster is up front about it not being his own work, so be it. i'm not interested in how well a factory worker in China assembles a kit or applies decals.

Right, but the issue here is that Jay thinks that the model in question is a built-up diecast that was basically taken out of the box and being passed off as a model kit that was built by the person who posted the photos. So far we don't have any proof of that. Still waiting for Jay to back up his claim with a link to that specific diecast.
Harry P. Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I'm going to close this. Jay, if you have proof to back up your claim, PM me.
