Dr. Cranky Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Matt, super cool. Never get tired of seeing different takes on this kit. Excellent mapping and chipping on this weathering job. Congrats.
rmvw guy Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 It looks like the kids have been busy for a while with that pile of dirt. Nice job with the weathering!
crazyjim Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I wasn't sure if there was a pile of dirt or dung on the roof, but it's a pretty cool build.
noname Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 Thanks for the nice comments guys. No it isn't dung. Dried, used coffee to be exact.
Joker Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Love the rockers.. It screams for a country driveway base.
Lunajammer Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Extra points for exploring the creative, but the (distracting) dirt pile does nothing for me. The car however... may be one of the most believable weathered vehicles I've ever seen here. Really exquisite.
Jantrix Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) I wasn't sure if there was a pile of dirt or dung on the roof, I've said it before and I'll say it again. That guy ain't right. Great build! I really like it. Edited May 11, 2012 by Jantrix
charlie8575 Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Mischievous little runts.... Nice job, Matt. Charlie Larkin
crazyjim Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 You never know what kids will play in. Dried, used coffee? Did you just pile it on the roof or is it glued on like ballast on a train track?
noname Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) No I used watered down white glue and some acrylic medium. Joker, I thought a base would be good for this. Maybe when I have the time I'll do that. It would look better that way sitting on a shelf or desk in this case I think. Lunajammer, thanks, but I get bored of the usual. I think it is a little more interesting this way. I've seen lots of beater cars. But I've never seen a pile of dirt on one. Thanks again folks. Edited May 11, 2012 by noname
Bugace Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Lovely! I almost see a rascal skidding down the rearwindow.
59 Impala Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Yep, I agree, I like this car a bunch. Looks like real rust and very good work on the lower body. The overall look is great. Great job fer sure. Dan
