jerseyjunker1 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 good morning guys and gals.i am in a very good mood today. why you ask? i don't know. anyways here is a 49 merk junker that i did as an old crashed & rolled project or parts donor car.it started out as a danbury mint diecast 24th scale merc coupe.i remade some of the body parts from heavy aluminum in order to get the twisted metal effect. then aged and rusted it. well back to work. hope you like it.
Dr. Cranky Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I like the way you put these models through the ringer. This one looks like it fell of the back of a truck . . . and your weathering is excellent.
jerseyjunker1 Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 thanks Crank. i could not ask for better praise than when it comes from the master.
Brizio Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Looks great!!! Every thing also the picture in the background!
deathskull59 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 thats a cool looking old junker theire looks like it was in a car 50 years ago.
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Poor little car. Probably not restorable. Great job.
Chuck Most Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Hmmmm... wonder if he was running shine, fleeing the constabulary when the car ended up like that.
dimaxion Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Something to be admired for sure . All the right stuff ! I agree with the Master Cranky . Thanx ..
Grumpa Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 (edited) Mannie! I've seen this car.....Really! I think that it was on some old 8mm film they showed us when I learned how to drive. So now I know what happened to it. I can sleep now. As usual....Great job! Edited June 3, 2012 by Grumpa
geetee66 Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I like the way you mixed media to create the desired effects. The weathering is very convincing and the metal really does look realistically contorted. Now I know what I'm going to do if I screw up a build...wreck it!!!
