A what if ...

Revell sells a Boat Load (read many containers) of Rat Roasters to the masses (that's us), and they say "OK, what else can we do to loosen more dollars from their pockets?"

I propose Stacey Davids "Copperhead" 1968 C-10 !!!

A brand new "New Tool" offering for the masses! But Do it Right!!!

Do All Goodies; The 572 engine, The Toyo Proxes tires (Wheels are already done 64/65 C-10)

How many do you see selling for part box fodder with the right stuff being done right?

Team up with Testors to do Copperhead Orange (and Rat Roaster Green) in ready to spray...

What do you think???

I would love that, the model companies need to look not only for interesting subjects that have never been kitted but also popular subjects whose kit is so outdated that it's begging to be done again with modern technology. It happens with armour and aircraft models all the time, it seems that some subjects get a whole new tooling every ten to fifteen years while we still get repops of 50+ years old kits.

That would be pretty cool! Aren't the '64-'65 truck's chassis' pretty similar to the '68-'72 truck's? If that's the case, couldn't they base a Copperhead (as well as any stock trucks of that generation) on the same chassis' used under the '64-'65 kit?

Joe,

I suggested this a few days ago in another post and we had several posters that did not believe much would carryover.

They are several interchanges in 1:1 land, but the way that the 64/65 kit was designed the chassis would have to be modified as the floor pan of the cab is different on the two series. The lowered suspension(s) could be reused. But I would prefer that the truck been a "New Tool", save the wheels which could be sourced from the Cali Wheels '64 Fleetside kit.

For the best sales, I think that Revell should "all out" do Copperhead with the 572 and the fat Toyo Proxies ( and all the goodies) and then maybe add other options i.e. a great small block engine, fuel injection, turbos etc as time goes on to further sales.

I bought several of the 32 Ford sedans for the engines and wheels and have yet to build a complete kit!

I figure this would be the case with the Copperhead kit if done "right".

Always the naysayers.
