Chuck Most Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 forgot to take before pics as I am as always chopping another kit That's okay- I'm guilty of the same charge.
Chuck Most Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 I've been screwing around with a '41 Plymouth the last couple of days and I think I might be onto something...
Psychographic Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Why didn't I see this thread while I was building my Willys Jeep? My current project is also a straight six. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=88999&hl=
Lunajammer Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Why didn't I see this thread while I was building my Willys Jeep? I'm compelled to comment on this again... I think that's the most photogenic engine (front end?) I think I've ever seen. Engineered to perfection David.
Chuck Most Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 Thread necromancy time... Finished the bodywork on the Hudson-powered '41 Chevy "bobber", and got the first few coats of bronze on the cab and bed. I was goint to paint them the same yellow as the scoop, but decided to match them to the frame. I might go another route with the scoop now, too. I guess we'll see.
Fabrux Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Ha! I forgot about this thread. I guess I could've put my Scout in here...
Zarana-X Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) I'll join in with this, I just bought (exchanged a chincy RC helicopter from Christmas) All I've done is spray the floor pan grey-blue and paint prep the body. Probably going to be stock, buyt I'd like to get some nice wheels for it. (I've also got two MKII Supras, but they're both curbside) Edited January 19, 2015 by Zarana-X
Erik Smith Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Inspired by Chuck's work and an appreciation for straight 6 engines... Hudson 308 High Performance...I scratch built a high compression, dual plug head and 12 point distributor: I have three weber style carbs going on the other side of the block along with custom headers. Then I have to figure out what to put it in.
Greg Pugh Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I can't believe I didn't see this until now! Some amazing work going on here!!
Zarana-X Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Do Straight Fours qualify? Well, it is straight SIX... You'll make the rest of us look bad, anyway... AFX is doing an amazing Escort rally car, you can see in the workbench forum: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=95907

Yea I think one build thread on a European Escort is enough.
Chuck Most Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 Add a couple more cylinders and it would be perfect. Gonna have to steal that dual-plug Hudson idea...
southpier Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 yup; you're two cylinders short of a full six! always wanted to say that ......
ProStreetOnTheStrip Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Im new here, and would like to know, is it too late to enter, if not im in a mopar slant six (still dont know)
Custom Mike Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Get going on it Don, there's no end date, so as long as it's got 6 cylinders in a line, it's good to go!
ProStreetOnTheStrip Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Sweet! Thanks I'll be starting soon
Casey Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I finally got the oil pan corrected, moving the sump area forward so it clear the steering components, moved the trans mount pad, and reshaped the lower bellhousing shield a bit: On to finding/making a manual steering gear box and adding the /6 engine mounts to the K-member.
