Zarana-X Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Made some pretty good progress on the '93 Supra. This is the newest car I've ever built. + Painted the shocks, swaybars and control arms Eibach blue. Had to shave the hubs on all the wheels, then shave the steering knuckles AND the hubs on the front rotors to make the tires clear.
Zarana-X Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Anyone else still working on theirs? I've finished the engine, I think. Interior is almost done. The valve cover looked better in person. I tried it without masking the plug cover-majig. I think I need to get one of those magnifiying visor things.
Chuck Most Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 Nice! I need to steal a Supra six and put it in something.
wayne swayze Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 An oldie from 1985. The '29 Ford body literally came from the garbage pail in my shop. Thought an inline 6 would be different in a highboy back then. The paint job went south, but the car won Best Interior at the 1st Canadian Model Car Nationals.
Chuck Most Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 These are not the best pics, but this is a '52 Hudson Hornet built in a sort of '60's/'70's "Saturday Night Special" style. According to some old-time racers in my area, guys were still running Hudsons into the mid '80's, though by then a lot of them had been repowered. I'm sticking with the 308 for this version, though.
Jantrix Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Here's the Pacer drift car I'm doing for the Cannonball CBP. Using the AMT twin turbo 2JZ. I know there are better versions of the engine, but this is what I had on hand. Corvette front suspension and stock rear springs with a Ford 9 inch, traction and panhard bars. I've hit a snag on what color to paint it, which would dictate what color to paint the interior, so I'm sort of stuck.
Chuck Most Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 Little more work on the Hudson roundy-rounder. I still need to decide on alternator or generator, and what type of oil filter to use, but the basic chassis is done. That meant I could turn my attention to the body.
MeatMan Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 That's funky! Like nine cans of shaving powder, that's funky!!!
ProStreetOnTheStrip Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Ivs got the engine sorta done, this is a side burner project, here it is Sorry for bad quality pictures, dont have the best newest technology.
Chuck Most Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 Just something I've been screwing with for the last couple of evenings...
TarheelRick Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) This is a Willys coupe bodied short tracker. The engine is from a 53 Chevy kit and the chassis is 41 Chevy truck. Edited August 18, 2016 by TarheelRick
TarheelRick Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Another short tracker I built using the 41 Plymouth coupe kit, It represents the ones they used to show back in the 60's from Islip Speedway on ABC's "Wide-World of Sports"
Jantrix Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Rats! I forgot all about this CBP. It would have been perfect for my '30 a-bone.
gardnerpag44 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I have a couple already built can I post some pics and not be for the build off ?
Chuck Most Posted August 21, 2016 Author Posted August 21, 2016 I have a couple already built can I post some pics and not be for the build off ? Feel free. This isn't a build-off, just a place for like-minded modelers to post their stuff.
Chuck Most Posted August 21, 2016 Author Posted August 21, 2016 Finished up two Ford six powered models today. You've already seen an early form of the Model A... And then there's the '48 Ford farm truck... I'll do full Under Glass postings for each when I feel like it.
Chuck Most Posted October 7, 2016 Author Posted October 7, 2016 Plugged a Deora Slant Six into the '80 Plymouth Volare- still some work to do, but it's mostly roughed in. And yes, I know the alternator is on the wrong side for this year/car, but it's a cobbled up junkyard beater, so I'm letting myself have a little wiggle room.
