Monty Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Whose metallic paint are you using on the body? One of the Testors lacquers?
slammedi'am Posted June 11, 2012 Author Posted June 11, 2012 Everything I use is from Duplicolor...Never had any luck with Testor's spray

slammedi'am Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 Rhanks everyoone...Think Im gonna go with this stripe...Got the decals on and ready for clear
Monty Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 That red stripe really sets it off, looks great! I agree, the stripe really makes it pop. May I offer a quick & easy suggestion that will improve it even more? Cut the stripe along the door lines.
cherokeered Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Looks Great...I agree with Monty about cutting along the door lines. What did you use for the stripe? Is it an automotive pinstripe tape?
slammedi'am Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 I agree, the stripe really makes it pop. May I offer a quick & easy suggestion that will improve it even more? Cut the stripe along the door lines. Thanks evryone and yes I do plan on doing this before I clear it... The stripe came from the parts store...I just use the smaller of the 2 on the roll
slammedi'am Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 Got the clear on the body yesterday....Now gotta finish getting the hood preped and it painted
gilsdropshop1 Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 clean ride like the colors too looking good keep pics coming! here is my chevelle i did last year.
jcbigpaw Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Love the paint and stance. Looking forward to more on this.
slammedi'am Posted June 25, 2012 Author Posted June 25, 2012 Well almost got this one done...Been working on it alot this weekend....Still up in the air about the hood.....Its not a good quality hood IMO..If not Im gonna order some cowls and just make my own
1930fordpickup Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 This a good looking Chevy so far. That cowl looks a little big for a street car to me , and I think the back should match the window angle better .
jcbigpaw Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Absolutely love the two tone paint on this car. And the stripe does set it off. Very nice. I think I agree that the hood seems a little extreme for this build. What's under the hood?
Jantrix Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 I think I agree that the hood seems a little extreme for this build. Ditto. I really dislike outlaw hoods in any case, but certainly here. Lets see the stock hood painted up.
slammedi'am Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 Yea I was up in the air about the hood...So I got the stock hood in first coat of paint today...Ill use that hood on a pro street one
slammedi'am Posted July 2, 2012 Author Posted July 2, 2012 Well I painted the stock hood and got it finished up...Not to happy with somethings on it but its done http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=60475
