Mercman Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 During the summer months I do most of building at the lake place. However fishing was cutting into my build time. So what's a person to do? Well I did this I sold my boat, Now I can concentrate on building.
Kaleb Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Nuts. Absolute nuts. Lol jk. Have you ever tried eating a model. The fish taste way better.
rmvw guy Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I understand your passion, I would like to trade in all my tools for 1/25th scale tools.
Jantrix Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Well considering the cost of fuel.............bait, tackle, boat maintenance, your decision seems a no-brainer to me.
Wagoneer81 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Good choice! I always thought that a boat was simply a hole in the water into which you threw money... Also, in all my years, I've had better luck fishing off the bank than I EVER had in a boat...
Chuck Most Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Bonus points if all the money you got from the boat went/is going toward modeling stuff.
mikemodeler Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I can understand that, I hate outside. That's funny, considering your day job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
slantasaurus Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I've always heard that the 2 happiest days for a boat owner are the day he buys his boat....and the day he sells it.
Mercman Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 (edited) The costs weren't to bad, but with all these new laws , Invasive species act, and trying to get on a lake it was a bugger. As for models I just placed a $100.00 order today at my LHS. The balance is in the bank for a trip in Jan-Feb next year. Edited June 15, 2012 by Mercman
Fat Brian Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 That's funny, considering your day job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I know. My job is a cruel joke played upon me, made possible by my lack of formal education. In all actuality, my job isn't bad but it does put me outside far more than I ever wanted. Heat is the natural enemy of the fat person and sometimes I really suffer in the summer. But it also allows me to drive around town and blow my paycheck at Hobby Lobby and Hobbytown and Micheals so it's kind of a wash.
