Ira Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 HOG VETTE!!! The Hog Vette Project was a 2 Week Build Challenge, I did for the CAR-TOONS CONTEST 2012. It actually took 2 1/2 weeks to build... Hog Vette Started as a cross between a Deals Wheels Stink Ray and a Rear Engine Dragster. The Front wing is made from the Stink Ray Bumper. The rear wheels are from a 1/16th scale Ferrari. I made the "Air Hog" from Squlpey. The Slixx decals set the theme for Hog Vette. The Engine is from a Super Fuzz Kit. The Wing is from the Dragster kit and the Wing Supports are Exhaust Pipes from the Deals Wheels Z28 Kit. More Photos Coming!
John Teresi Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Ira.........I have to tell you ......I am a huge drag racing fan......and this build is my favorite that you have ever done......I love it !!!!!!.........I have been trying to buy and own a build from some of my favorite builders.......just to own a piece of modeling history.......I would love to have this model.......I know this is rude to ask but,if you ever want to sell it.......please let me be the first to buy it......I could probably make one but,to own a model made by Ira would be AWESOME.......thanks.
Bartster Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 This turned out wonderful. Even though it's a cartoon, and it IS making me laugh, it's the high level of craftsmanship that gives me the giggles ! Truly a work of art. Thanks, lra. Bart.
cobraman Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Like all your projects this one turned out great. I always look forward to your next build.

Ira Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 MORE HOG VETTE PHOTOS!!! The Front Wheels are from the "Beatnik Bandit 2" with Vintage, Skinny, 2-Piece, Revell Tires. The Front Axle is from the Mysterion. Hog Vette is painted with Testors Flaming Orange and Gloss Black. The Black reacted with the Flaming Orange and made a Real Nice Effect! The Parachute is from the Tony Nancy Double Dragster Kit. Wheely Bars are from Deals Wheels Z-28. You can see Air Hog's Head through the rear window... Later...

I can't believe that you built this in 2,5 weeks. I could not get the bodywork done on that time ! Thanks Niko! The body work was mostly the one seam between the Vettte & the Dragster Bodies. It was pretty easy because the Hog Decals covered any flaws... Edited June 20, 2012 by Ira
JasonFL Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 This was a lot of fun to watch you build. Really cool and that hog head you through in there was the perfect touch That skull one looks amazing as well. When I get more skilled I'm gonna have to try something like this. Great work, can't wait to see whats in store next.
