I'm getting back to this 41 Willys that I started almost 10 years ago. My plan is to have it ready for the Toledo NNL show this year.

I opened the doors to begin with. I used the kits engine and tranny and began to modify from there. Now this car has been sitting in the box for about 8 years. I pulled it out the other night and started to take pictures of where I was at. I have machined a lot of pieces for this car. I still have a lot more to machine. By the way I've searched and can't find how to post multiple photobucket pictures on one post. Any help would be appriecated.

Here is the motor that building for the Willy's. It is the kit block and tranny. Just about all the rest is scratchbuilt and aftermarket. I have some pieces to put back together here on the motor that fell off.

Here is one of the door panels that I started. This model is the first time that I have tried to do my own photoetch. I have a little tweaking to do to get it where I like it.The brass that you see is to simulate ostrich skin. Also you will see that I did a BOSE script for the speaker.

Here is the wheels that machined for the Willy's. The tires came for the AMT prowler kit. Also feel free to ask any questions or give any comments. I'm more than willing to share what I know with anyone. Thanks for looking.

very cool build Ryan! love the machine work!, looks like you have some experience in machining, what kind of equipment are you useing? I just got into machining little over a year ago, I love it, very rewarding making one off parts, it is also very challenging!

Thanks! I'm using a sherline lathe and mill. I learn a lot from my dad, who also builds models. Also I did a lot of playing with it. There is still a lot to learn. If you have any questions, I'll answer them the best that I can.

Ryan...what scale is this baby?

Terry it is in 1/25th scale. Also vintagedragfan the wheels are 3 piece. The outer rim was machined from aluminum pipe and then the two center pieces. The spokes is separate from the cap. I'll get some pictures to show you.

You said you opened the doors, so the body isn't Revell's SWC gasser. Whose is it and are you using a kit chassis?

Love the yellow engine. What color is planned for the exterior?

I couldn't fine the Bose script you mentioned. I like the door panels and design.

Can't wait for the chassis build and interior detailing.

I have a 1/25 Willys I started more than 10 years ago, too. It's going to be a street rod and after seeing this, I need to get it back out.
