Hi Austin,My wife and I used to live in the big O.Moved to NC in 1991.

Try Colonial Photo and Hobby on Colonial Drive.Don't know if they are still there after all this time.Check out the yellow pages online for hobby shops in the area.

Hope this helps,

George

Austin, try a forum search using "Orlando Hobby Shops" and you'll find three previous topics with info on hobby shops in that area:

sorry Casey,Just in this economy hobby shops are getting harder and harder to find and might not be in business anymore.I know that one of them is closed already. Edited by Austin T

Coming here in 2006 from Michigan, I was completely spoiled by the full line shops in MI. Here in FL, hobby shops are a barren wasteland. I have yet to find a good one that compares. And I've been to Colonial. I was highly disappointed.

I f ya go to Tampa, go to Ralph's Hobby, 5206 66st. N. awesome place, he has big plastic buckets full of parts, nickel a part,, great guy to deal with,, Takes me 2hrs to get there, but its worth it.. And Friday- Saturday night,,you got to go to Old Town,

I second the notion about Ralph's!! Actually, if memory serves me right, he is located in Pinellas Park(on the St. Pete side of Tampa Bay)....a really good person to deal with!!!

If you plan a side trip to Daytona check for a hobby shop there a block west of the Speedway in a little strip mall on the same side of Speedway Boulevard as the track.Don't remember the name and don't know if it is still there(I visited there in 1996).

The one in Pinellas Park is Phil's Hobby. Not a bad shop either.

It's called Daytona Racing and Collectibles. Still in the same shop that you described although it's on the end of the strip now. Great selection of model kits (old and new) and diecast/Nascar collectibles.
