Thanks a lot for stealing our rain, Debbie <_<

Haven't had rain at our house for over a month!

Harry, it's gonna be 103 degrees here tomorrow

Hot? In New Mexico, which is burning to the ground, gets around 117 degrees daily. New Mexico and Colorado have massive fires going on around here. We really need rain around here.

There are alot of fires in the New Mexico/Arizona/Colorado area. The last fire struck real close to home and burned right up to my aunts backyard and into it but stopped before her house. The Little Bear Fire, New Mexicos most destructive blaze, ahs burned 264 structures. The Whitewater-Baldy fire continues to smolder, at an acreage of 297,845 acres. We really need rain at this time. I'm just asking for prayers of rain. Please pray for rain. Please and thank you.

With no humidity. It's BRUTALLY humid in the NE part of the country.

Don't know how it is up by Harry, but West Chicago got drilled yesterday pretty hard. We had no power for about 24hrs at home and the parts of town that pre date WW2 had streets that were covered in trees and such to the point the weren't passable right after the storm!

Joe, I got lucky. As of today there are still thousands without power in Lombard, Wheaton, West Chicago, etc. But I got lucky. Rain, some wind, but nothing even close to serious. Amazing how just a few miles can make such a big difference.

Although... I lost power three times in the last several days, none due to weather. It just "went out." The last time (a few days ago) we lost power for 6 hours. That was the day it was 102 outside! Well, pretty soon it was also 102 inside!

Same around here. There are still parts of Marrietta and Belpre Ohio without power. We were down about 36 hours here in Parkersburg. I know my fridge is empty till tomorrow! Ruined all my food. Thank God for canned goods!

Oh yeah, well down here in the land of NASCAR, we had 3 straight days at 104, today we cooled down to a chilly 93! Weatherman just said we will be in the 90's for the next 7 days, which is higher than average, but we have fared better than you Chicago boys so far this summer as you have had more 90 degree plus days than we have!

Strange weather around the US this year, not sure if hurricane season will be affected by the heat and wildfires but we will soon find out!

I was talking to a customer today that lives in Sycamore and who's wife works for Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield. He said that his wife called and asked bow bad the storm was at home and they saw nothing and it is still dry as a bone out there and CDH was right in line for the storm that blew through St. Charles, Batavia, Geneva, West Chicago, Wayne (Army Trail in down town Wayne got tore up too). I noticed the clouds rolling in from the south just as I go to the store and it hit not long after we opened, luckily the only damage at the store was a floor that needed a little mopping and a.new employee had the fiberglas bedcover ripped off his beater truck and swamped the park fliers he had in the bed and break the verticle stab off one of them.

That's all just a couple of miles south of me. What a difference 5 miles or so makes!

Yup, one of my co-workers lives in an open part of Elburn and he thought he and the family were going to get blown away! The storm must have curled around kinda funny if it also hit Elburn yet missed Dekalb, Sycamore, and Rockford.

BTW, If you head south on County Farm towards Winfield next few days, watch out for trees in the road just north of Geneva Rd. They have barracades up blocking the road where the trees and such are on them, but the blinking lights are not working........not fun to run up on at night! Myself and the guy drivimg a first gen Quest had a few emergeny manuvers to make............

My thoughts and prayers are with you all dealing with these events...we need rain here.

Weird part is, we do here too! The Fox River is still down several feet (about as much is it was up last summer!) , Dekalb and Sycamore are dry as a bone and is more of a rural area than where Harry and I live. A friend stopped by his Mom's house in a small town called Virgil and saw that her yard was on fire! He went in to ask why they were burning garbage (yea, that far out of the burbs!) and they told him they weren't, the yard actually caught fire!

We got our power back almost a day ago, but some of the damage around here is alot like we had last time a microburst hit here in '07. Gotta go to downtown Wheaton and get the plate sticker for my Jeep since I forgot about that untill 2am on June 30th......and the renewal is in June........luckily, I can at least drive in the 200 and not worry about getting stopped for expired tags!
