After taking a break from kit building for a few weeks I finished this 1956 VW... and was reminded why I need the break... this little kit gave me a good share of problems but...that is what i love most about the hobby...

I just asked you a simple question.

Then here is the simple response " Because thats the way "I" wanted "MY" kit painted" that should have been evident ? and you don't start a simple question with "Ill buy the fact you painted the bumpers white" like your expecting a explaination....

Ok. Cool.

Cool! Is the kit curbside? Does it include any metal transfers like Tamiya's kit?

Ok, I'll buy the white painted bumpers... but what's up with the white door handles, headlight bezels, etc?

I think Harry was just looking for a back-story- something like "Oh, it's a Eruo-Hawaiian style Cal-looker."

Nice looking Bug!

Looking good! Gunze also made one that had engine detail, lots of white metal parts and photo-etch. Unfortunately they are more expensive.

Right, but he took offense to me asking about it.

I don't know. When we see something that appears odd... and painting the chrome trim is odd, I think it is only fair to ask why. I would say the response to the question was rude, not the question itself.

Also, I have a lot of posts to catch up on. I don't have time to click on every "thumbnail" image on this site. If you go with Photobucket, the pics are sized for quick viewing. And it's free.

Maybe the way I worded it was the problem. It probably sounded to him more like a slam than a question.

maybe the avatar with the guy holding the gun has something to do with the way it came across? i don't think it is a positive representation of forum fauxthority.

nah harry, its not the way you worded it. i think he's just having a bad day. I totally understood your question and apparently so did others.. :D

its a nice build, i dig the color. the white reminds me of a hot rod style of goint chromeless.
