modelmike Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 After taking a break from kit building for a few weeks I finished this 1956 VW... and was reminded why I need the break... this little kit gave me a good share of problems but...that is what i love most about the hobby...
Harry P. Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Ok, I'll buy the white painted bumpers... but what's up with the white door handles, headlight bezels, etc?
MAGNUM4342 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Nice build. I love bugs, can you tell me who the maker is and if it's readily available? (Love Bugs...pun unintentional!)
rmvw guy Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Who makes these and what scale is it? Is it plastic or diecast? Nice model! I need one like this in my colection. Thanks
modelmike Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Well harry I was building the kit for me not for you...not a very pleasant comment from a administrator? sorry you don't like the color combo... and for those who are interested the kit is common on ebay it's 1/24 scale plastic by GUNZE SANGYO other than that IDK it's in that funny squigly writing...
MAGNUM4342 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Thanks for the info Mike, and for displaying your model.

I just asked you a simple question.
modelmike Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 (edited) Then here is the simple response " Because thats the way "I" wanted "MY" kit painted" that should have been evident ? and you don't start a simple question with "Ill buy the fact you painted the bumpers white" like your expecting a explaination.... Harry P. Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Then here is the simple response " Because thats the way "I" wanted "MY" kit painted" that should have been evident ? Ok. Cool.
Sam Cates Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 LOVE IT! I'll definitely be buying one, excellent job and thanks a ton for bringing this kit to light!
Guest Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Cool! Is the kit curbside? Does it include any metal transfers like Tamiya's kit?
modelmike Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 the kit is very basic but the thing i liked was the seats are one piece rubber
Foxer Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Nice looking VW. Just to add about the Gunze kit, it's a very good representation of an old bug and a very good kit. No engine but an OVAL window! I turned mine into the '53 I had in Germany.
David G. Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Ok, I'll buy the white painted bumpers... but what's up with the white door handles, headlight bezels, etc? I think Harry was just looking for a back-story- something like "Oh, it's a Eruo-Hawaiian style Cal-looker." Nice looking Bug! David G.
ChrisR Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Looking good! Gunze also made one that had engine detail, lots of white metal parts and photo-etch. Unfortunately they are more expensive.
Harry P. Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I think Harry was just looking for a back-story- something like "Oh, it's a Eruo-Hawaiian style Cal-looker." Right, but he took offense to me asking about it.
Jon Cole Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I don't know. When we see something that appears odd... and painting the chrome trim is odd, I think it is only fair to ask why. I would say the response to the question was rude, not the question itself. Also, I have a lot of posts to catch up on. I don't have time to click on every "thumbnail" image on this site. If you go with Photobucket, the pics are sized for quick viewing. And it's free.

southpier Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 maybe the avatar with the guy holding the gun has something to do with the way it came across? i don't think it is a positive representation of forum fauxthority.
charlie8575 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I like it. The white accents are different. Did that roof rack come in the kit? Charlie Larkin

I totally understood your question and apparently so did others.. its a nice build, i dig the color. the white reminds me of a hot rod style of goint chromeless.
