Agent G Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 I'm not known for being a huge car builder, but when I do, it's usually a cop car. Lindberg's Dodge Charger, Chimneyville decals, and a bit of scratchbuilding yielded this. G
Harry P. Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 I really don't like the styling of the new Charger, but it works as a cop car. The big, bulky, macho look doesn't say "Charger" to me, but as a cop car it's right on. Nice job on this one, especially the "office." Looks great.
Agent G Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Thanks Harry. If only Dodge had called this model the Monaco, or Coronet, or Lancer, or even Diplomat......................... Then too it reminds me of the Diplomat, it just looks like a cop car. G
Harry P. Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Thanks Harry. If only Dodge had called this model the Monaco, or Coronet, or Lancer, or even Diplomat......................... Yessir. Would have made a great "any of the above," but not a Charger.
62rebel Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 chrysler should leave the European design school with Mercedes and get a refresher course in American muscle car design, IMHO. everything they make looks like a crib of a Benz. and yes, "Charger" should be a nameplate on a TWO DOOR car.
Agent G Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Here she is with the remaining details added. I scratch built the antennae, and the exhaust tips. I used Pledge to polish the finish. Artsy shots. G
mopar68 Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Very nice, lots of little details in this one. The mirrors look great, did you use real mirrors for the glass?
Agent G Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Zac those are the chrome inserts from the kit. They look very very good in there. That's the problem with this kit. There are some great features, it looks great when finished, yet the overall build is a female dog. G
Helix Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Good job Wayne, I like the look of these as a Police vehicle
1972coronet Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Great work on that Slick-Top A38* Charger ! Living in the demographic that I reside in , I see a couple of these around , patrolling I-15E , CA 60 toward its terminus , I-10 / US 60-70-99 , and some other spots . * = I know that Chrysler's police package cars haven't been determined "A38" in many years , but I continue to call 'em just that !
Agent G Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 I always call it the A38 package, and 9C1 when I refer to Chevys. Old habits I'd say. I got stopped by one of these outside Lancaster one morning. I was really torn between checking out the car or the cutie driving it. Darn CHP gets the honeys.............. G
SteveG Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Nicely done G !!! It would look great along side my CHP "Ghost Charger" ...... they even share the same ID ...... Maybe I'll make it out to one of the West Coast NNL's one day ...... CHP also ran an all white slick top Charger marked like yours and another all white Show Car with chrome wheels and different graphics. -Steve
