Jon Cole Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Not new, I finished it a few years back. And... it's the Revell kit with pre-paint body. That freed me up to add detail, and actually finish it.
MyBradKeselowski Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Excellent engine, interior detail ! ! ! Looks great for a older build. I love these Bandit Trans Am's...
sleeper Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 not bad! where did you go? and did you enjoy the show where ever it was.
TooOld Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 That's got to be the nicest looking T/A engine I've ever seen ! Very Nice .
wayneman Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Sweet looking car. I am getting ready to start one for a friend as a gift. Hope it turns out this well. Wayne
Jon Cole Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Is it based on this kit? Yes it is Casey. Far more detailed than the AMT offering. One nice feature is the hood is attached at the rear corners. there are horizontal slots on top of the firewall, so I made this one piece non-functional hood spring. I just stuck that hook seen on the lower left into the slot, and it holds that metal hood up just fine. The music wire cross bar places the opposite side in place; no hook.
Casey Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 As a kid who grew up idolizing the '77-'78 Trans Ams, I love it. this appears to be one of the nicer, less die-cast-like models, too. I loved these cars when I was a kid! Me, too...and still do.
Chuck Most Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Sweet! These were the best of the second-gen F-bodies.
jerseyjunker1 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 this is a great looking model. i may have to junk one one of these days.
