gtx6970 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) You know you got em, The ones sitting in boxes waiting , and waiting, and waiting. I've had these 3 for what seems like forever. I know i've had them at least 15 years. And each time I get them out. I can't decide to do them as replica stocks or old drag cars. I have several of the 1964 Dodge kits without the side trim, but this is the only 1963 Dodge I have. Original issues of both Johan 1963 Dodge and a 1964 Dodge Polara with the side trim intact. And lastly a 1962 Dodge Dart convertible. The 1964 Polara Hardtop i'm just not sure about just yet,, 1962 convertible,,,, I may eventually just use as trading material. Austin T Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 A big one for me is AMT's Haulaway hauler.I wanted it so bad and was so excited to get it,I just can't for the life of me figure out what to put on it or what fake company to make up for it or what.
Junkman Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) I know exactly what you should do with the '63 Dodge. I sure doubt you will do exactly that though. Edited July 20, 2012 by Junkman
Bartster Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 lf you have ANY indecisions about the future of your '63 Dodge, LMK what you need for it. l'm half-a55 scared of my resin copy! Bart.
imatt88 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Yup, I have the same problem. I have an old MPC '75 or '77 Camaro, and a MPC '76 Ventura that have been sitting around for literally years. Someday. I'll get to them
1930fordpickup Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Leave the 63 as a stock car and make the 64 a tow/push car for the 64 you have with no side trim , and trade the Dart . If only I could be this quick with my own projects. LOL
slusher Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 l have always got back to those projects sooner or later. you will see a build or model similar and get some fresh ldeas and start working on them. l have always sooner or later done that.

Harold Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 The '62 could be the red convert in Its A Mad Mad Mad Mad World.
Jantrix Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I have this issue with a few kits. 1960 Ford Starliner - I've seen it done a lot of ways. Nothing speaks to me. 1963 Olds Starfire - box stock or custom or lowrider? 1965 Chevelle - No idea. What is it with these sixties cars?
gtx6970 Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 I know all to well about indecisions. I have dozens of them sitting in boxes. Some have been waiting nearly 20 years. I sold several dozen kits , ( some unbuilt - some builders) this past spring because they had sat entirely to long. And I cut them loose in hopes the next person will do something with them. Several went to kids under the age of ten, If I lit a spark in just one of them,,,,,, I'm good. One of them was an AMT hauler trailer, so I can relate. Sorry fellas I can't replace the 63 dodge for anywhere near what I have in it ( under $30 ) That one is slated for a superstock dodge type build, I just can't decide which one to do.

jcbigpaw Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Been there done that. I've got a half dozen kits that I started or restarted and they've languished for about 15 years. Every now and then I'll dig them out when I'm in a slump but I've just never gotten motivated to finish them. I also have about a dozen kits I bought off eBay over a few years with specific build plans in mind but just haven't gotten to them. In fact I've never built any kit I've gotten off eBay. No idea why. ????

I get close to one reasonable on Ebay and get sniped every time. Otherwise they are always priced out of my reach!

I had a bunch of unwanted kits I put up for trade last year and had the Starfire in my wanted kits list and was lucky enough to get one.
crazyjim Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 After I decide on a kit to build, I keep going until it's done. It may have to be stripped once or twice, sometimes more, but I always finish a kit and never put it back in the box for later. I think everyone that has kits they started and put away for another day needs to send them to me. Can you imagine how many cool kits I'd get?

MrObsessive Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 This one........... A flaw in my body work shows right down the middle of the roof! I know how to fix it, but it would require stripping the roof and or the entire body of paint, and then redoing the body work to get rid of the "ghosting" that occurred in that area. Right now with another project going, I don't have the ambition at the moment-------so it just sits on the shelf collecting dust. Someday though..............
