It's get worse every year as I get older. But wow.

I went out this morning to paint some easy chassis stuff, just from a rattle can. Silver, black, bronze. The semi-gloss came out flat, the flats came out so flat they are two dimensional. I cannot wait til we get our own place and I can do this stuff indoors with my booth.

Are you painting outside - outside , or outside in a garage ? ( Does that make sense ? ) I paint in an open garage with a couple of small fans moving the air thru the garage and out the open end . It seems to help keep my paint from blushing or turning flat .

I just came in from doing some pressure washing around the house. Marcia tells me it's 106 when you factor in the humidity. No wonder I was sweating so much. Now I'll cool off a little, shower, jump in the pool, and get out to the shop.

Be thankful, Rob. Knock on wood, no hurricanes yet. No snow or below zero temps either.

Here in Kansas it's been rough with the heat/humidity lately. It's been between 100 and 110 for almost a month now here. And I don't understand it. We've not hardly had any rain this year so far, and the humidity is still almost to the point of unbearable. I've been building custom cabinets at my regular job, and hanging siding on a friend's house til dark every night. Even after 5pm it's still like an oven out there. Need a break!

Actually I've been thinking about getting out of here for a while now, and not only because of the weather.

Weren't you talking about Arizona or some other oven, Harry? Hurry and move before they catch you.

Yeah, southwest somewhere. Northern New Mexico maybe. Somewhere where there is never any bad weather! I don't mind the heat if the humidity is around 10%... it's the combination of 90 degree temperature and 90% humidity that's a killer. It's ridiculous when you break a sweat just walking to the mailbox!

The weather is about the only good thing around here. We've had an unusual rainy spell lately, but normally it's hot & pretty dry. No tornados, hurricanes rarely make it far enough inland to bring rain & wind. lt only gets below freezing 3 or 4 days a year. lf it does snow, it's either not enough or too warm to accumulate. lf there were only a hobby shop closer than 70 miles l'd have it made!!!

Sorry to burst your bubble , but I spent a winter in Albequerque . Lots of snow ! My son drives OTR and he got stuck on I-20 east of there for 3 days when a blizzard closed the interstate in less than 2 hours ! Here in Tampa there has never been a recorded temperature above 99 degrees ! Summer temps are usually 89 - 93 with 75% - 80% humidity . This past week it never hit 90 degrees . Right now at almost 1 pm it is 88 degrees . What's it like in Chicago ?

Supposed to be 107 here today! Not any fun. Makes it hard to want to do anything outside for sure.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! High temps plus high humidity equals misery!

I just checked and the current temp in Chicago is 85 with 43% humidity . Tampa is 89 with 58% humidity . Looks like we both have a pretty nice day compared to other parts of the country .

Yeah, today's not bad. Better than the 100 degrees plus we've been having the last few weeks. Now if only we could get some rain! They're already telling us all how food prices are going to go through the roof due to the drought.

Alot of painting indoors for sure. I've built a makeshift booth in the spare bedroom, "with good ventilation", otherwise I wouldn't be painting very much at all. Just tooooo dang hot.

Well, don't know what to tell ya Harry. It's 90 outside with 55 % humidity right now ,but the real moisture factor is the dew point which is sitting at 72. It's supposed to rain. Looks like the weather forecasters were wrong-again.

It's been horrible here as far as the crops go. I don't think anybody I know had a very good wheat yield this year. It's too bad, because they're absolutely right. Between food and gas/oil a guy could go broke pretty easily.

Looks like it's as bad there as it is here. I wouldn't wish this stuff on anybody. Just ridiculous. Hope we have a good fall.

l use to live in chicago loved the spring, summer and fall, was use to the cold. l live in west tennessee and the summers are misery. l don't know where its best. we are good til june thru aug. l can take cold weather but hate the heat. l did like northern Arizona when l was there. Chicago rarely gets hot. this is a bad year across most of the country. Seems like every year everything goes up but the pay check. its so hot here the birds are pulling worms with pot holders...thats hot

Last year Louisiana passed some new laws making it easier to import hay into Texas because of the horrible drought here. This year we're hoping it dries up enough to get into the fields to get our own hay. We finally have fat, happy cattle!

Harry, don't debate any longer, leave. Your health will improve. My arthritis has abated to nearly nothing, and I can function as a LEO again out here. Too many injuries combined with that mid western weather made me a functioning cripple. It wasn't safe any more on the front line.

I settled here in Las Vegas because of the wife I had at the time. She went psycho, but I stayed and I'm darn glad I did. Now I have a wife I actually like and all is well.

110 isn't bad with 5% humidity, one thing though, I drive an all black car. I bought it in St Louis before the decision to move was made. Next one will not have black leather interior for sure.

I looked at peoperty around Roswell NM. That's the only county in NM that isn't sorely depressed economy wise. August is thunderstorm month, and there is a significant amount of humidity. Coming from the desert it was noticible, coming from Chicagoland, you wouldn't feel it a bit.
