Agent G Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Back in the day my police department drove short wheel base 3500 series Chevy vans for prisoner transport vehicles. I have had the '77 Chevrolet van kit lying around for a decade or more now. Those now stupid looking fender flares always kept me from building it as a police "cruiser". Well I got off my butt and here's where we sit as of today. That's Duplicolor GM Light Metallic Blue with MM Clear gloss enamel. G
Agent G Posted September 9, 2012 Author Posted September 9, 2012 I've been working on this bit by bit. Chassis is complete and I just finished the interior. I had to make another mold to cast the radio and siren box, so that delayed the project for a while. G
Danno Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Beautiful work so far, G! You keep cranking out these homeruns, and I'm gonna have to get back to the bench and finish some projects ~ ~ ~ just to keep up!
Johan020 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Very nice paintjob I love de detail on the dash
Shardik Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Very nice weathering and detail painting on the chassis, and I aint even gonna talk about the dash detail!
Agent G Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 Thank You All! This one is coming along nicely. I have "deplated" the rear bumper and am building the step we used from treadplate. G
mikemodeler Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Looks good, what are you using for wheels? Should be nice when it is done!
martinfan5 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Looking good G, I was going to be joining you in the police car CBP, but I see you moved it here Nice touch using the steering wheel from the whale kit, seats too?
Agent G Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 Mike I'm taking the wheelcovers from my Modelhaus '84 Impala and combining those with the kit wheels and tires. The Modelhaus bits are a nice vintage set of chrome wheelcovers close to what the real deal had. Jonathan I have built so many 9C1 whales it would be a shame to NOT use the seats and wheel! These came from the SS I converted with GTO interior parts. G
joeym Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Oh man I look forward to seeing more of this. Looks great so far.
Agent G Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 Well wait no more! I have been working on this, but it seems like everything gets done in one weekend. The light bar was custom made for me almost 20 years ago. I bought 20 of them back then. They are still used! G A few more. G
Agent G Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 I scratched the simple bar lock we had on he rear doors. G
Danno Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 (edited) I can already hear it ... 'Don't tase me, Bro!' Whooops. Wrong era. Should be ... 'Don't mace me, Ace!' That's NICE, G!!! Good job! {eh, don't forget to register that rig before you put 'er on the road, or I'll have to impound 'er!} Edited September 19, 2012 by Danno
Agent G Posted September 19, 2012 Author Posted September 19, 2012 Oops sorry officer, the plates must be on my other car. Yeah, that's it the other car. G
