John, WOW that just looks soooo real. I hope you didn't permently attach that business card to the chassis? I don't think it would do well for the aerodynamics

Looks great John. There's a lot I don't know about drag cars, too. Like how a shifter like yours works. Those of you who know, please tell me how a shifter like this works. Does the driver just push the buttons to go to a higher gear? What does the lever do? Go from forward to reverse gear?

The shifter with the ball on top controls the forward and reverse functions of the trans. The buttons(air shifters)

control the other gears.

To make a run the shifter with the ball is moved forward. The linelock button on top of the shifter is engaged (to hold the racecar at the starting line) when the starting lights flash the clutch and linelock button are released simultaniously and as rpm increases the shift light comes on 3 times(4 speed) and the driver pushes each button to engage the next gear when the light flashes. The top button is 2nd gear and goes down in order 3,4 ,and sometimes 5 speeds.

John... your work continues to blow my mind. That engine is looking Killer. thanks for the info on the gauges and belt. Do you know if Paul sells just the belt material or if you can only get in his engine kits. I am ready to see what you have instore for us next on this build.

Looks fantastic, John! The chassis is a piece of art, especially now when it's painted. I like the engine details too. I think it looks more 1:1 than 1:16.
