Pro Tech Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 John, WOW that just looks soooo real. I hope you didn't permently attach that business card to the chassis? I don't think it would do well for the aerodynamics  Charlie Pro Tech
gonzo64nova Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Looks great John. There's a lot I don't know about drag cars, too. Like how a shifter like yours works. Those of you who know, please tell me how a shifter like this works. Does the driver just push the buttons to go to a higher gear? What does the lever do? Go from forward to reverse gear? The shifter with the ball on top controls the forward and reverse functions of the trans. The buttons(air shifters) control the other gears. To make a run the shifter with the ball is moved forward. The linelock button on top of the shifter is engaged (to hold the racecar at the starting line) when the starting lights flash the clutch and linelock button are released simultaniously and as rpm increases the shift light comes on 3 times(4 speed) and the driver pushes each button to engage the next gear when the light flashes. The top button is 2nd gear and goes down in order 3,4 ,and sometimes 5 speeds.
