Movin right along......

i got the salt on the frame and suspension parts..........ready to be shot black!

im "hoping" to have this one done for the three rivers automodelers contest on the 30th of this month........if i dont get movin faster, im not gonna make it! but if i dont make it, its ok.....

ok guys, i hsot the frame with black, after putting on the salt, then dusted it with "brown boots" and just a little red primer.......now its on to washes, and gunk!

my usual assortment of rusty crusty washes...........my own custom blends.

add those and a little baking soda in the right places, and you have some nice nasty gunk build up......

one thing about adding baking soda to the paint washes.....make sure you seal it well with some dullcoat, if not...........and i learned this the hard way, it will turn back to white on you in 6 months!

ok, here she is after all the washes.......looks like its been through a few nasty pennsylvania winters! now its on to weathering powders, and then a good coat of sealer...

i got the powders applied now.......i used tamiya weathering powders for the first time tonight, and the "oil stain" color works great, looks like oil to me!

thats some nasty greasy stuff!

ok, here is the begining of the exhaust system....i lobbed off the left tail pipe, and drilled out the end of the muffler, i plan on makin some hangers as well...

ok, exhaust system installed! it still needs some magic powders on it, but its close, and the rear diff needs gunked.......

Can't wait to see more pictures, you do awesome work! The weathering on the chassis looks very realistic, but especially I like that rear bumber. Absolutely fantastic job.

thank you Niko! i do love weathering stuff! once i got started doing that stuff, it was all i wanted to do......and i will blame that on Dr.Cranky, he got me started on rust n gunk!! thanks cranky!
