Ron Hamilton Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I built this one about 20 years ago. I found the box it was in yesterday, and found the parts to get it back on its wheels. I rubbed it out, and touched up the "chrome". It even has a dent on the trunk.
carchub Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Nice man! I've always dreamed of taking cars like this and older passenger cars out in a desert to fly down desert roads, man that'd be a blast. Anyways, thanks for sharing!
charlie8575 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Very nice, Ron. The triple-black always looks at home on a Cadillac. Charlie Larkin
Gluhead Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Love it! I was just eyeballing my Eldo today. And now, this. Arg, the temptation! *chants to self - must finish other projects...must finish other projects...*

Monty Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 (edited) Now all you need is a "Custom Continental" to go with it! I wonder if either AMT or Johan ever considered tooling up a Mark III. When I was younger, I had a middle-aged couple on my paper route who were fairly well-to-do. One day when I came by to collect, the garage door happened to be open & I noticed that they had an Eldorado similar to Ron's & a Lincoln that looked a lot like this one. I remember thinking how nice it would be to get to choose which of those cars you're going to drive that day. Edited August 23, 2012 by Monty

Rob Hall Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 (edited) I'd love to see a 1:25th scale Mark III kitted or in resin. I'd also like to see a '70-73 Continental sedan or coupe. Love the Lincolns of that era. I have a neat little Lindberg Mark III (1:64th scale, I think?). Edited August 23, 2012 by Rob Hall
Agent G Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Nice older build. I always wanted a MkIII, naturally when I was in a position to buy one, they were long out of production. G
Gluhead Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I was out grabbing a headliner shell at a yard in Columbus, Ohio one day for work, and there near the back corner sat a '70 MkIII with one little dent in the rear quarter and a handful of things pulled from the dash (or something to that effect...it's been about 11 years now). Other than that, and the fact that the wheels had been pulled, it looked like it was about a year off the showroom floor. I couldn't believe it. Of course, it wasn't for sale.
Gluhead Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Sounds like your son-in-law just found himself your next birthday present!
MichaelJ Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 WHAT A BOAT!!!!!!! I love um :D !!!!!!!! really cool. Michaelj...
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 (edited) Great looking Eldo. I didn't even realize it had been kitted. That body style was one of GM's best designs, IMHO. Edited August 25, 2012 by Ace-Garageguy
Dominik Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Love it! I have the same in white - and if i see your black beauty, it reminds me, to get my hands on it for restauration...Thanks!
