I built this one about 20 years ago. I found the box it was in yesterday, and found the parts to get it back on its wheels. I rubbed it out, and touched up the "chrome".

It even has a dent on the trunk.

Nice man! I've always dreamed of taking cars like this and older passenger cars out in a desert to fly down desert roads, man that'd be a blast. Anyways, thanks for sharing!

Now all you need is a "Custom Continental" to go with it!

I wonder if either AMT or Johan ever considered tooling up a Mark III.

When I was younger, I had a middle-aged couple on my paper route who were fairly well-to-do. One day when I came by to collect, the garage door happened to be open & I noticed that they had an Eldorado similar to Ron's & a Lincoln that looked a lot like this one. I remember thinking how nice it would be to get to choose which of those cars you're going to drive that day.

I'd love to see a 1:25th scale Mark III kitted or in resin. I'd also like to see a '70-73 Continental sedan or coupe. Love the Lincolns of that era. I have a neat little Lindberg Mark III (1:64th scale, I think?).

I was out grabbing a headliner shell at a yard in Columbus, Ohio one day for work, and there near the back corner sat a '70 MkIII with one little dent in the rear quarter and a handful of things pulled from the dash (or something to that effect...it's been about 11 years now). Other than that, and the fact that the wheels had been pulled, it looked like it was about a year off the showroom floor.

I couldn't believe it. Of course, it wasn't for sale.
