carman59 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 This is again second to none in their attention to detail, I hope you enjoy the pictures.
Sixties Sam Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Very nice version of one of the greatest hot rods of all time! Sam
carman59 Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 I didn't build it, Danbury Mint did, but I agree they did an outstanding job on it.
jbwelda Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 this is out of stock from danbury...do you have an "in" on purchasing them or even know of someone with the ala kart in stock?
High octane Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I juist called the Danbury Mint this morning to order a car and it was NO longer available. It was the '50 "Bulletnose" Studebaker Champion convertible, guess I should have ordered it months ago. Oh well, I did order the hardtop.
george 53 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I saw it at the 62/3 Detroit Autorama when it was still held at the Mich.State Fairgrounds! Fell in LOVE with it, bought the model when it came out, bought the re-issue, AND I have this one too! Danbury Mint sends flyers out, about every 3 months or so. Just go to their website and sign up. This Die-cast is closer to the original AMT kit than the re-issue,and it is a BEAUTIFUL model.

jbwelda Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) yeah harry i have been watching that since my original post. problem is the windshield and some other parts like the grille insert are missing. i was wondering if the AMT pieces might fit or fit with minor modification. i dont imagine anyone here can check? edit to add: and when i look at it closer it looks like the injection stacks are not lined up so there is possibly other damage you cant see in the pics. still...if worse comes to worse and it dont sell before then...
