crazyjim Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 The large flakes are throwing me off, Doobie. It would look good on a dune buggy or boat.
Jantrix Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 (edited) It looks like a Duplicolor paint I have as well. It's one of those Spectracolor three can sets. I'm going to be using mine soon. Edited September 21, 2012 by Jantrix
cobraman Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Man ! That is some heavy flake David. I can't say I dislike it but it may be just a tad too busy for my tastes.
72 Charger Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Yes i know the flakes are a bit big but i just had to see what it would look like The paint is a tamiya laquer called lame flake its for the lexan clear R/C bodys I have done it on a race boat commission but the bloke that i did it for crashed it and sank it so no pics Doobie
Badluck 13 Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 .........."Dare to be Different" as said in the street rod scene, big flakes? why not?!?!?!,I think it looks cool,I remember back in the mid 70's at a car show was a '71-'73 Pinto with a "Heavy" flake paint on it and I remember the flakes were huge to the point the guy had a sign that said "Please do not touch, yes the paint feels rough as it looks"........Doobie,she looks great....

skymnky721 Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I dig the flakes,,its different,,kindof reminds me of some of those old AMF bowling ball finishes,,or like someone else said,,dune buggy finishes. Id hit it with just a "hazing" of Lime Green Metalflk,,so you could still see the main paint below it. Nice job,,,,S
