martinfan5 Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Be hearing about this for awhile now, its nice, but nothing to get overly excited about, but I am not a vette guy, I am sure the will be drooling over this one
tubbs Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 no thank you. you can get some sweet musclecars for that price. no matter what brand you prefer. i guess i am a softy for the classic muscle. i dont see this holding its value..... i have been wrong before.
Len Woodruff Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 If I could I would. My 78 Silver Anniversery will have to do for now.
gtx6970 Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 sorry not a vette fan , especially newer ones.
jaydar Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 About equal to just one of my two kids private college educations (even with scholarshiips). If i could only figure out which one to cut off i could get one. I truly doubt if it will be a classic. Just a limited edition. Still,, i hope Revell does it. joe.

Longbox55 Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 expensive piece of c r a p Hhmmm. Read the article twice, never saw the first mention of the Viper .
High octane Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 While I do like Corvettes, not enough to buy one though. If I did, I would lean toward a '58 or '60 'Vette.

jbwelda Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 63 split window coupe is the only one that has ever done much for me.
Maindrian Pace Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Being a new Corvette, there is guaranteed to be a glue kit of it, and likely nothing else from 2013 that might sell. -MJS
slusher Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Beautiful car but l would rather have a new challenger.
dmk Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Very nice. Convertables are sexy. While this may be "the most powerful and fastest Corvette convertible ever made", I'd rather have the Z06 Coupe though. Lighter, faster and probably handles better.
BKcustoms Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 It's definitely a nice car, but I think it's about time for a new body style for the corvette, hopefully the 2014 model will actually be an "all new" car!

jbwelda Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 the other thing to address is the supposed "collectibility" of a car. it is my contention there is no such thing or if there is it is very rare indeed. why? because if you use the car you are going to wear it out and that in itself is against the "collectibility" idea. second, if you use it you are bound to crash it...result: "investment" disappears. and if you store it, the car will become unusable over a period of time unless maintenance is done to it. the best thing to do with a car is use it. if then in some years/decades down the road it becomes "collectible" you come out ahead but in most cases you will have moved on by then. i cannot fathom someone buying one of these as a "collectible" and then stashing it in a garage to fall victim to rats, disuse and the other problems that can occur when a car is stored for a long period. i guess its ok if you are jay leno or someone who can pay someone to maintain what is essentially lawn statuary at that point, but not to someone of more moderate means.
