Really looking forward to the '57 Ford! The kit looks perfect in the photos.

I hope the '57 Chevy BelAir ragtop will have the windshield frame molded to the body rather than a clunky, ill-fitting chrome piece like the ones in the '55 Chevy and '59 Cadillac convertibles!

Yes, it's supposed to be released in December 2012.

1/35 scale, VERY cool kit with working steering, working rear suspension, working outriggers and functioning wrecker boom. It has been issued several times as a military wrecker and once as a funky civilian wrecker in white with chrome parts.

Yep, that's the one. I think that is a skunk! LOL I don't rember it being included in the Revell version that I had but it may have been?

Why in world would they make the '53 Corvette in 1/24 when almost every other Corvette they make is 1/25???

it is highly unlikely that after buying at least 6 different Revell Corvettes in 1/25 that i am going to buy a 1/24th.

I really think that is stupid. I am sorry, but this makes no sense.

Actually, the VIN does identify V8 cars. The number will start with a "V" on V8 cars.

Also, weren't the V emblems deleted on the "sixes"?

I know that on the "Fuelies" they were plated in the gold color.

Anyone know how this compares with the AMT '53 Corvette (other than 1/25 vs 1/24)? I'm building the AMT kit now and it is a nice kit, but I have ideas for another '53 Corvette. Since they are re-issuing the kit and the AMT is fairly easy to find on Ebay I have options.

I honestly don't understand Revell wasting time on the SSR kit. They didn't sell well in the real world and I have yet to hear of anyone say they wanted another model of it. I've also never seen one being displayed at any model shows. Maybe it's just me. I think they should have put their time into something else.
