Rob Z Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 WOW!!! That turned out AWESOME Roger... Very nice job...
george 53 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Dam that came out REALLY NICE!!! I think i have that old issue of Super Stock magazine!
Harry P. Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Wow... very close to the photo, nice work. But the wheels need a shot of dullcote.
cobraman Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Looks great ! I have to agree about the dullcote.
slusher Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 That build does grab your attention, very sharp...
caine440 Posted November 3, 2012 Author Posted November 3, 2012 I did dull coat a set of wheels but I must have done something wrong as they came out looking foggy and milky. I made several mistakes on this build including decal placement and other bonehead moves. I will post more photos in the drag racing section tomorrow. Thanks for looking.
Casey Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Are the 1:1 car's wheels aluminum? Testor's Aluminum buffing Metalizer would be a good choice for that, but you really captured the look of the real thing with this build, especially the ride height. Who made the decals?
1972coronet Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 WOW !!!! That came out NICE !! Dead ringer . Sweet six pack! Don't use dullcote. Try the "Looking glass" mirror spray from Krylon. It makes kit chrome look like real chrome and it almost doesn't matter what you do you can't screw it up. Absolutely . Krylon's "actual" chrome looks very convincing , especially on valve covers and air cleaners . Highly recommend it . Works over gloss black (or naturally-moulded black) or even enamel steel or aluminum .
Bonekrosha Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Awesome car, awesome build. That 60's lace paintwork is so cool. I miss my 69 sooooo bad when I see them.
DumpyDan Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Really cool, is that a decal or paint down the center of the car..............either way love it!
Big Daddy Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Great job it looks real nice, now if i could only get my decals
caine440 Posted November 3, 2012 Author Posted November 3, 2012 I hear you Daryl about the decals. I got lucky and I got these before things went bad. Phil, The WIP is posted in the drag race section under project six pack. Thanks!
