This Grand Sport was designed by Jean Bugatti with his typical sweeping fender and a tilted windscreen an early effort to streamline a car.

The model was built from a Heller kit. I wired and plumbed the engine and made foldable the hood. I didn`t prepared hinges a plastic tape is enough flexible.

Looks great, I don't recall ever seeing a Heller Bugatti before. It looks like quite a nice kit, and your build really brings out the detail and graceful shape.

Just beautiful. Both the real car and your replica. The original Bug's were so ###### elegant. Something the "new" one will simply never be. Congrats on a wonderful build!

Nice model Caapa! This 1/24th scale kit was originally by Heller. The same kit was also marketed under the Airfix brand name.

Pocher of Italy also manufactured a huge superdetailed 1/8th scale kit of this car with the same bodystyle, and also offered the Superprofil Fastback bodystyle as well. These Pochers go for silly money on Ebay now.

Very nice build, I've seen this kit a few times, but never bought it, as I wasn't sure what it was like to build, next time I see one, I'm snapping it up ....

Beautiful build! Don't see many of these built, which is a pity. This was one of the first kits that I built when I got back into model kits a few years ago when recovering from a hospital operation. Mine now needs restoring after sustaining some damage during several house moves, so I will certainly borrow that trick for the hood hinge.

Outstanding. That's a difficult kit (I'm a little intimidated to build mine) and you did a great job.

Heller kits are often heavily criticised, but the ones in this series are very detailed, especially considering their age, and are also of particularly interesting & unique subject matter. With this one, the only problems I remember having was getting the rear suspension to sit at the correct ride height (just requires some trial fitting prior to gluing) and that the engine mounts needed tweaking, so that the engine would fit correctly, & thus the radiator top hose could be installed properly. Well worth building!
