Dr. Cranky Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Thanks to Bryan M. for the name. A topless 41 Willys with a slight attitude problem. Need I say more? And Jim S, this one is going to be shiny. Yes sir!
Dr. Cranky Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 Got the chassis cleaned up, welded and glued, reinforced, etc . . . the chassis took some work, sure, but not as much as the body: And I just cut off the top and made it TOPLESS, thus part of the "wild" in the WILLYS GONE . . .
bryan_m Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 oh man!! thats cool............those tires are huge! bryan
Dr. Cranky Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 I'm using two big carbs and two huge velocity stacks. That should help the look. And this one is going to be painted in TESTOR's "Lime Ice" lacquer, if all goes well.
cobraman Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Those are some huge meats. This is going to be very cool.
crazyjim Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 I like what you have so far, doc. You know how I love SHINY :)
nate47 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Awesome...thats the beauty of models...at least your not cutting up a real Willys...I'll be watching this one!
bryan_m Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 wheres all the eye candy??!! MAS,MAS,MAS!!! LOL, i had to! bryan
Jantrix Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 At least give us a shot of the body on the rolling chassis!
Dr. Cranky Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 This is all pretty much box stock except for a few frame reinforcements, the tires, and some after market parts for the engine. I have always wanted to build a big tall Willys.
dimebolt Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 It wouldn't be a Cranky ride though without at least one "Eat More Scrapple" decal on it. LOL, this things gonna be pretty gnarly Doc. Corey
PistonDog Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I am looking forward to see this progress. You have some of the best builds I have ever seen.
bryan_m Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 aaah, i saw you said it was gonna be shiney virgil........ i think it should be covered with mud! cheers bryan
tooltas Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 that willy needs a four wheel drive front axle think mud truck or down here in florlda bog truck most of them are high horse v8s and on some monster meats like that just look at site www. trucks gone wild .com
bryan_m Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 patiently waiting for eye candy here........ LOL! bryan
Dr. Cranky Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 Stay tuned in for more progress. I don't see why it couldn't be shiney and have a little mud respresentin'. The chassis is going to be mildly weathered and the engine is going to be new though. Just creating varieties in the finishes.
gasser59 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Dr. Cranky has gone wild!!!! Mad as a hatter but he makes some wild scale rides. I'll be following along on this one.
mopar68 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 This is wild alright, love it! I'll follow along
