I had a good day today - the post office got everything to me without damaging it and the people who I bought from did a good job of packaging for a change/

First up is three kits that I got through a Craigslist ad that I placed.. I really like the Mustang and I'll keep it but the other two - I'll trade them off .. got a fair deal on the three kits - they weren't really expensive but I think it was a fair price ] everything inside the boxes is still bagged and all appears well..

Next was a 1959 Impala Sport COupe that is rather nicely put together. Aside from the incorrect color and the black interior ( Chevys did not come with black interiors in '59 ), it's nice. The paint is decent and I will likely two tone this one, repaint the interior and add the missing door handles. I'll probably paint the roof and deck lid silver .. or something.

Then there's my $10.50 Ebay 1960 Lincoln.. It's an old brush paintwith the only damage being that little nick out of the rain gutter. I rather like this just the way it is.. or I'll strip it and repaint it - not sure of the colour if I do - maybe black. I really like this little orphan.. ya gotta love those old annuals!

Last but not least, my new '59 Ford hardtop. I'll strip this one in due time and give it a real good going over. The hood doesn't open on it so that makes things easy enough. The worst of this little car is where those stinking cruiser skirts were attached - those things are like a pox - everthing I buy that is old has had them or still has them! They are real make work projects but all in all, this will be a worthwhile fix. I sort of have a thing for '59 Fords.. not sure if I would go red and white, black or turqoise and white with this one. I'd like to buy several more of these for what I scored this one for.. .. I have a pair of '59 Ford convertible squirreled away to redo as well... might have to find me a mid fifties cab over and an old AMT car hauler..

As far as the Lincoln,Please Do it another color than black,A nice Deep Metallic Blue with a White top would look great on it,The black is just to cliche,Everone paints those particular cars Black With a Red interior,It's just a suggestion for you!Nice score by the way! B)

Got a new charger SRT8, not that great of a build but I like the opening doors and gives me idea on hinges. Finally got aluminum, steel, and rust paint. Picked up some .45mm wire so i can start wiring my cars lol and found some rubber tube from the jewelry section for hoses at Hobby Lobby.

Over this weekend I got a few things. Friday I got an autograph from my favorite band that I listen to while working on models ( To keep it related lol ) which is Five Finger Death Punch. This here is the lead singer. It was 117 degrees outside so luckily I did NOT get heat stroke. Thanks to water and frozen magaritas :D Also followed the next night with my club meeting I got 4 kits. The Dale Sr car has the engine started and thats about it. The T-bird is not started. The superbird has a yellowed clear on the body to strip. The Indy car I have to strip. I also got some paddle tires for another project. DSC04158.jpgDSC04243.jpg

Some guys have all the luck. All I got the last few days is a sore back from shoveling 15 yards of mulch into my flower/shrub beds. And I still need another 5 or 6 yards.

Don't feel bad Jim, I got to go to a funeral for a friend (co-worker and prior Marine). Rest in Peace Brother.

I did however pick up another 1992 Mustang GT Convertible lowrider for parts-scrounging/possible build.

I wish my postman would stop by more often. This is what he brought me this morning:

I think from what I've seen, I just wish I had your postman!! :D

Brian - where did you get that teardrop shaped sanding stick? Scale Dreams doesn't carry them anymore.

Jim I got that at a local hoby store called Andy's. I'll give him a call and see where he oreders them. He sells them for $1.29 each so if anything maybe I can get some and send them
