LVZ2881 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 My Tamiya Skyline R34 V-specII kit just showed up from ebay, with a couple suprises inside the box. A complete Scale Auto Style resin Body kit and hood, and a set of Fujimi wheels and tires. looks like I'll need to buy another kit to use the body kit and hood on.
LVZ2881 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 These showed up today. I ordered them Monday!! from a place I found in FineScale Modeler. http://www.hobbybuy.com both kits, with shipping, $36!!!! The Ferrari alone @ my LHS is $43
berr13 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Hit the local Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon, and left with a Revell '57 Chevy Black Widow for $10.32. Score one for me!
CAL Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 My Tamiya 88 Merc C9 finally showed up, and the LHS was blowing out a bunch of Fujimi Ferraris so I picked up a Dino 246 GTS.
Dingo Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Picked this up on Thursday 30th April after 3 months on layby at a cost of $195Aust. Dingo
FujimiLover Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Picked this up on Thursday 30th April after 3 months on layby at a cost of $195Aust. Dingo I'd like to build one some day, maybe convert it into a motorhome and really try out my scratch-building skill's. I dream of putting in a functioning Ipod to simulate a big flat-screen tv in there that would actually be playing a movie. That would be awesome! Would have to see the inside of the bus to actually see if the floor plans would allow a motorhome conversion.
LVZ2881 Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 A Monogram '71 Satellite was on my doorstep from ebay when I got home.
Dingo Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Fujimilover it sure does lend itself to be built into a motorhome that's what I'm doing. I'll take a photo of the floor pan to show you real soon. Dingo

Custom Hearse Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Made a 800 mile round trip today Check out the local hobbie shop. The bad side.??? 800 MILES???? That's local? OUCH!!!! It looks like it's bent inward. If it is, it should be an easy fix. It looks like something worth saving. Good luck with it.

84vanagon Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 (edited) I know the "oldsters" among us can identify this, but do you "young'uns" know what this is, and can state it's historical significance? I probably paid too much for it, but they don't grow on trees! Edited May 3, 2009 by 84vanagon
84vanagon Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 The good side. 60 Ford Galaxie 4dr Friction Promo Is it fixable? Do you want to Fix it? Great scores on both! The 60 AMT promos were made of Cycolac plastic which had great shine, but does what it WANTS to. If I were you I would buy a 1/25 display case for it, and display it good side out. Keep it in a pretty consistent temperature controlled room (ie; A/C) and away from direct sunlight will help in keeping it from getting much worse. I have a 60 Galaxie 'vert that is amazingly straight, but also have a 60 Comet that looks like a banana laid on it's side. IIRC the 62 is "safe" because the promos were moulded in styrene, and painted. Art Anderson should know the years when AMT and Jo-Han went to styrene promos. Jo-Han used Cycolac for a couple of years after AMT stopped. All MPC promos are styrene.
