Also have 5 sets of Aoshima and Fujimi wheels on preorder from HLJ.
ffreak Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Well I was in my LHS today for our club meeting and picked up the new AMT Challenger. He also had the Revell one but I already have it and wanted to try the AMT one just for something different. Looks ok for a curbside. I kinda like the decals in it better than the Revell one also. I'm happy with it for what it is.
diymirage Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 i had the niece and nephew over today and me and my nephew worked on the cars (me on my sardince challenger he on his duster cop-out and we helped my niece finish up her saleen) so we went window shopping at riders in grand rapids i ended up getting some wood and styrene I beams these will be transformed into a truckbed for my VW bug
dwc43 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 the real suprise was having the brakes fail on my truck as i pulled into my space this afternoon! swerved just in time to miss my wifes truck and drove right through a culvert and up the neighbors side yard. not sure what was more exciting the ride i took or the new 5-windows Dave Gotta remember to use that emergency brake next time. We have a sale tax holiday this weekend. We have one in spring and one in fall for school. We did not get to have the spring one this year due to the economy. By law, they can cancel the spring tax holiday, but not the one in the fall. So, my lap top caught a bug and it's old enough it needed replacing and I could not get it to reformat anyways. So, I picked up a new Toshiba Satellite today.
Dragline Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I had one of those BOOM! days today. Went to the LHS and picked up polishing supplies. When I got home my eBay stuff had arrived. How cool is this? Sealed Sammy Swindell, Casey Luna and Kinser sprint cars from the mid 80's 10.99 ea. Carpenter 55 Pro Mod sealed, 11.99 and Rickie Smith's pro stock Thunderbird open but complete 9.99. All from the same seller so I weasled on shipping, something like 12.00 bucks I think. Bob F
RodneyBad Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 ran across a little hobby shop on the way through N.C. today and picked up a Revell '32 sedan and '48 Ford convertible kit. the shop was an R/C shop but had some plastic models along one wall, the cool part was anything there was $13.99. pretty nice stock and no complaints on the prices found a couple of Revell '32 5-windows on the door step too as well as another '30 Model A. the real suprise was having the brakes fail on my truck as i pulled into my space this afternoon! swerved just in time to miss my wifes truck and drove right through a culvert and up the neighbors side yard. not sure what was more exciting the ride i took or the new 5-windows Dave Always nice to find a out of the way hobby shop with decent prices. The truck thing. No Brakes? Scarie stuff, good thing it didn't happen anywhere else. How'd the truck Fair? Brake Booster go out?
Rob Hall Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 (edited) truck is fine, brake line rusted through. i'll replace the line and the one next to it that doesn't look so good either as well as check all the rest of them. front bumper took a nice chunk out of the neighbors grass though. Dave I had some brake fun back in March, while exiting a parking garage, lost all brake feel--pedal went flat to the floor(front brakes and master cylinder failed) while going down the exit ramp of parking garage...almost took out the exit gate....had to use the parking brake to try and slow a 5000lb Merc S-class. Such are the adventures of occasionally commuting in a 25 yr old, 180k mile car. Rob Edited August 9, 2009 by Rob Hall
