Car Crazy 81 Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I got a Revell 64 Chevy C10 Fleetside Pickup in the mail from a fellow modeler. I made a trip over to Ace Hardware known as Ullo's i picked up a dental pick, 4 pc tweezer set, sandpaper & a strainer. I bought a Revell RC Cola Wagon for $ 4.95 at a second hand store i couldnt pass that up that kit is really a Tom Daniel's "Beer Wagon" except Revell reissued it as a RC Cola Wagon which i might use for parts.
Chuck Most Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 This lovely, overcast day after Labor Day, I put on my best white clothes, hopped into the T-Racer, and made the 80-mile round trip to Dean's Hobby Stop. The haul was a bit smaller than usual but here goes- AMT '65 Pontiac Grand Prix Prestige Series- may end up as a mild custom, but I've always been tempted to try out the 'advanced' custom version of the kit. AMT '56 Mercedes Benz 500SL- I'm thinking a Bonneville car, perhaps the recipient of an early Mopar Hemi, kind of a 'reverse DaimlerChrysler' thing. AMT '69 Chevy Corvair- no particular reason, other than it's been a while since I built one. AMT '63 Studebaker Avanti- same as above, though I can always just pirate the Moon wheel discs and Paxton hair dryers from it! AMT '63 Vette Ragtop- parts donor for a ChevyII AWB car I've been planning, and as a bonus, the kit came with the Drag Strip Acessories Parts Pack (something I wish we'd get more often.) These were all Prestige Series issues, with damaged boxes and some moisture damage. I'll dodge 'collector prices' however I can, thank you! The boxes were all moldy and gunky (still sealed), and were quickly incincerated, the kits are now in Tupperware totes in my upstairs kit cemetery. I also got an AMT Dodge Stealth, which more than likely will donate it's drivetrain to a street rod build. Didn't get the two I wanted, though, an AMT '93 Ranger, or an '82-'92 MPC/AMT Camaro that was NOT molded in red!
gasman Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 went to one of my favorite hobby shops and got a MISB AMT 1966 Olds 442 convertible, and some late 90's Hot Wheels (There actually ex-Corgi castings)
Rob Hall Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Got home and had a couple mail packages--an AMT '59 Ford Galaxie conv. box that I won on eBay, new home for the restorable '59 convertible builtup I bought last year, and some Modelhaus '59 Buick resto parts for a '59 convertible I got recently from eBay.

FujimiLover Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Nice collection of wheels man! And thank's for the comment on the Dnano's. I've been with the Mini-Z's since day one and I still like them, but I am much more fond of the smaller 1/43 Dnano's at the moment. I've been thinking of getting back into the Mini-Z's with their AWD's pretty soon as racing season is about to start at our local club. I'll probably go with the Subaru WRX model to go with my Dnano version! Next week I'll be receiving the Countach Dnano! Should look killer!
Jon Cole Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 This just in! Literally... my "dealer" just dropped off a bag with the Rommel's Rod, and the '62 Buick. Wife popped a head gasket... "WHAT?! MORE MODELS?!" I wonder if it was a multiple choice question?
