highway Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Glad to see you finally got the Payhauler you wanted, Blake! I might just have to see if Porky has any more of the Pete cabovers, I have one that needs help! By the way, like Jim asked, might you trade a few of the multiples? I could always use and extra Super Bee or two to add to the case of them I already have!

LDO Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) Sherline lathe accessories: Quick Change Toolpost from A2Z CNC A grooving tool from A.R. Warner that fits in the quick change toolpost: It has inserts for cutting grooves in 3 widths; .015", .031", and .062". I think .015" would be good for cooling fins on Harley or Indian motorcycle engines. Detailed Corvair engine, anyone? It could make aircraft engines too. The .031" grooves would be great for this bad boy: Edited August 8, 2010 by LDO
DRG Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I use toolpost like that everyday at work, not sure I would want to use them during hobby time. But that's what's great about this hobby to each his own.
spkgibson Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Here is the New 75-76 Fury 4-door Made by Missing link,It comes with the correct wheel covers,I had a hard time getting a good photo of it!Well have a look!
crazyjim Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 My wife bought me a Katherine Jenkins CD (beautiful voice) and I'm taking it out to the shop and getting some model work done.
RodneyBad Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 It has been a while since I have gotten anything. 2 weeks ago I bought a Bike A Specialized Rockhopper Since I haven't rode a bike in 15 or so yrs, I have already put over 100miles on it. G/F and I went for a lil bike ride this morning and ran into a couple of yard sales The BattleTech aint what I thought it was gonna be, I thought it was gonna be A model of the Robot but instead was a bunch of Lil Battlebots.
Rob Hall Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Went to the IPMS show. Bought a few models: Fujimi Ferrari 250GTO blue/yellow Tamiya 1:20th McLaren MP4/8 Tamiya 1:20th Lotus 79 JPS Hasegawa 1:20th Ferrari 312T '75 Monaco GP Tamiya 1:12th Lotus JPS
DRG Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Went over to Hobby Castle and picked up some flat for the interior of the 62 Catalina 421 SD I'm building. Also picked up a rattle can of Blue metallic for the body. Some flocking for the floor. And a Stone Woods and Cook Willys, and a Lindburg 1940 Ford Coupe, stock, custom or Police.

LDO Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 That is what I need to get for my lathe, a quick change tool post. This one is made by A2Z CNC. I bought mine from Blue Ridge Machinery & Tools. If you want a grooving tool, I got mine from Little Machine Shop. Sherline sells a 1/4" shank insert grooving tool, but it only cuts around .030" deep. This tool made by A.R. Warner cuts .250" deep. It has a 3/8" shank, which required a different tool holder. The QCTP will handle the 3/8" shank.
Blake Rogers Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 hey zuk are you going to get rid of it? the mecha? if so let me know
TurboKitty Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Just got back from a local flea market with a factory sealed 1/24 AMT/Ertl Ferrari 250 GT S.W.B from 1989. The box is in pretty good shape save for a small crushed in spot on the top edge. Now, I don't really like classic Italian sports cars that much, so I'll probably end up trading this for something I really want but it was too good of a deal to pass up. Here is a pic I found on the internet of what the kit looks like, mine is in better shape: I also scored a round wall clock with my absolute favorite '69 Charger R/T ever on it! It's the 1 of 1 Spring Green Metallic '69 426 Hemi 4spd car w/ white interior, body color steel wheels, and poverty caps. It is a stripe delete car and it just has the "R/T" badges on the rear quarter panels. It was restored by Julius Steuer (Restorations by Julius). There was only one other '69 Hemi Charger R/T that was painted in F6 Spring Green metallic (it was an automatic). Here is the real 4spd car: http://www.hemmings.com/hmn/stories/2006/04/01/hmn_feature8.html http://www.hemmings.com/mus/stories/2004/05/01/hmn_feature7.html I will be building a model of this as soon as I get all of the materials & parts.
crazyjim Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 The front of that Ferrari looks sorta like a '70 Camaro. What are you looking for in a trade?
TurboKitty Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 The front of that Ferrari looks sorta like a '70 Camaro. What are you looking for in a trade? lol yeah it kinda does. I'd accept a kit from my Wanted thread as long as it was also factory sealed (or at least sealed inside and complete). I'd accept another '68 or '69 Revell Charger R/T, '69 Charger Daytona, '70 Super Bee, or maybe another Mopar kit as a trade too, I just haven't added those in my Wanted thread lol.
crazyjim Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 The only Mopar kits I have are 1970 Dodge Challenger Revell #85-2596 1978 Dodge Li'l Red Wagon AMT #38248 1997 Plymouth Prowler w/trailer AMT Dodge Evil Spirit MPC #1-0858 I have a few Hemi engines and a slant 6 - 2 slant 6's if you count the one in a Deora kit.

I'll have to pass, thank you anyway. I have the same Challenger 2 in 1 kit actually I just added a bunch of cars to my wanted list as well. I will add/subtract from it often. Thanks!
LDO Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 A real 351Windsor block. The plan is to take it to a machine shop for cleanup and clearance for a stroker crank. From what I've been reading, 408c.i. would be as big as it should get for a production block. A 427 would be great, but many say that piston side loads are too great for a daily driver. What does this have to do with models? I'm going to photograph and measure it so I can make a detailed 1/8 scale Windsor. Just the thing for a Big Deuce or Big T.
DrewCfromSC Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 (edited) well its not directly model related but will be. Scored some old NOS 6 volt flashers at a local flea market and already sold a few to buy models! Keeping some for my VW cars too! It was a good day! Drew C. Edited August 9, 2010 by zwitterman
crazyjim Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 My mailman brought me a Revell Hot Rod '54, '55, and '57 Chevy series - all in one large box. This was a trade with George (Davis). Thanks George.
Jon Cole Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I finally picked up the Model T / Chopped T two kit combo. I think it's only the second kit I have bought this year.
crazyjim Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Okay. Thanks. I had that chopped body laying around and traded it off to somebody.
