Jared Roach Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 So yesterday I went to the city and stoped at a hobby shop. They had pretty much the same thing as my lhs but they carry Tamiya paint and the had some second hand kits there and the Ranger caught my eye, even though Gm s-series are better. lol Gonna be my first time using Tamiya paint, so hopefully it'll work out.
Car Crazy 81 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I'd recieved a AMT 84 GMC Pickup fleetside bed from member ScaleCentral. Its going on my MPC Hardcastle & McCormick GMC P/U that had a stepside bed on it but wasnt cutting it for what im doing with it.
B_rad88 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 (edited) FedEx delivered the foam samples today. still waiting for my sampler pack. EDIT: fedex tracking number says that its in transit now, and i should get it tomorrow. Edited August 20, 2010 by B_rad88
Robert81 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Picked up a can Of Dupli-Color Bahama Blue Metallic for a project.
Roadkill2525 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Got the last of my stuff from eBay, two sets of LS wheels and accessories.
Rob Hall Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Got some Missing Link '69-74 Plymouth hubcaps from ebay yesterday and today picked up the new Revell Corvette ZR-1 at the LHS. Looks pretty sweet. Alas, the Hemi Darts were gone by the time I got there (this shop is in the RPP program).
RodneyBad Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Got the last of my stuff from eBay, two sets of LS wheels and accessories. Nice wheels.
Railfreak78 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I got a nice vintage score today. A local place I browse gets models sometimes so I picked these up with two hard to find Hot Wheels for $30. The Carrera is copyright 1976 and the Ford is copyright 75. The Carrera has a started interior tub but everything else is good for $8 and the only damage to the truck is a lightly bent chrome tree not affecting the parts and it was $16. The truck parts are still in the bags. I think I did good and I'm hoping a few more kits are still there next week since I didn't have a lot to play with this week.
Jim0205 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Good grab on the Ecto HW I picked one up a few months ago while grocery shopiing and last friday I found a gold Delorean HW at the same grocery store.
Railfreak78 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 (edited) Good grab on the Ecto HW I picked one up a few months ago while grocery shopiing and last friday I found a gold Delorean HW at the same grocery store. I'm actually really happy with the Delorean releases from HW. They are clean and well done. The gold one looks great to with the gold wheels. Oh and the dealer I talked to said the Ecto is turning out to be almost as hard to find as a T-Hunt and I certainly have had no luck finding it. This place I go to you may pay more for a new release like $3 for this ecto instead of a buck but you don't waste your gas going all over town looking. Plus the store has everything from redlines all the way to new. I love that place Edited August 21, 2010 by Railfreak78
B_rad88 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 (edited) nice score Brian, i have that porsche, a good friend of mine gave it to me, speaking of witch i need to finish it, i wonder if the build thread is still here......... anywho, there is some fitment issues with it, but they are an easy fix, well it sorta was for me. i need to start on the body work of it, ugh. edit: and there is tons of those ecto-1's and deloreans at my local walmart, toys-r-us, and dollar tree. Mr. Moparman Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Some paint, Bare Metal Foil,TesTors Custom Decal System (might go in the decal business !),cement, and some brushes.
Junkman Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I have another of the Ben Skylines...if you weren't aware they're the same kit as the Tamiya. There's a whole series of duplicate "Ben" reissues. Yeah, but the Ben box art is sooooo much kewlerer.
Kaleb Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 (edited) Its two weeks before my birthday and it has been very eventful so far lol...Hopefully I get the same amount of cash that my wife got so I can get more. And im still waiting on a Tamiya RX7-R1 and a Tamiya VW bug (wife wants to build this one) Edited August 21, 2010 by Kaleb
Railfreak78 Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Joshua I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that loves glue bomb lots. If that red car body on the left is what I think it is I am a very jealous man
MILD Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 I picked up Revell's 2 in 1 Black Widow 57. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it at this stage though.
Kaleb Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 lol I think I got part of the interior with that one. the windshield frame is missing so I cant do much to it...neither with a few others like the nascar and the white car.
DRG Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Since I don't like the exhaust system that came with the 62 Catalina 421 SD kit I bought some solder at Radio Shack. I'll make my own. Also went for a ride and to my surprise found a Hobby Lobby I didn't know was there.

I think that is a plymouth from the pic can you tell me what it is? I can't tell if its a Plymouth ( which had a cut off top the kit I'm thinking of) or t looks like a cut up Impala lol. That red one makes me think its an old MPC Body if its a Plymouth and I's gladly trade Nascar parts for it if you want to finish the Lumina. I think that body might be from theis kit
Greg Cullinan Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Found a hobby shop,Ed's hobby shop to be exact, while on vacation in Myrtle Beach,S.C. Had a nice plastic section amidst a ton of R/C and whilst checking out noticed some built models for sale. There was also newer Charger and what looked like a ricer from Fast and Furious. It was only 11 bucks,Ed said a regular customer brings them in. Managed to strap this to the roof of my Expedition and drive 600 miles and only lost a outside mirror, although I can't get my builds form the work bench to the shelf without falling apart. Although not a model it's somewhat related, went to Nascar speedpark to ride the go-karts and picked this up. Got home yesterday to some sweet resin from our own Shucky!
