Sam I Am Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Ok, I built these for a dual purpose. No pun intended, lol. I needed a slump buster for one, and the second reason was that I had a 1:1 project truck that I just couldn't figure out what direction to go with. So I built two different versions in different colors and engine/tranny/wheel combos. I new that I wanted to go with a drop axle, update the brakes to late 50s five bolt and an open driveline rear end. Other safety features would be going with a power bake/dual master cyl frame mount unit, and a 65 mustang gas tank frame mounted. So these mods are the same on both models. The red/black one is the way I was leaning towards as the 1:1. It has a 235 six/floor shift 3spd with a dual carb intake and headers. steelies with wide whites and stock grey interior with a 1953 Belair instrument cluster frenched into the dash(the 1:1 had this scabbed into the dash and I wanted to see what it would look like cleaned up). The blue truck has the same color interior with standard white faced round gauges in the dash and a 348/powerglide for motivation. I also opted for old school mags. Its all a moot point since I sold the 1:1 project and the 348 last year. Still have more projects though. lol
Madrdnckbldr080 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Sweet Buildz... Both look great.. Red
bug1623 Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 great builds I just posted my 41 chevy and I had a similar idea for the hood as u did on the blue truck except I had to use a donor hood from a early 40s chevy car so im still working on final fit and paint so it has the stocker for now
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 I really like both your trucks, and I REALLY like seeing other guys building models to figure out what to do with a 1:1 project. Works for me.

Gluhead Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Nice chebs. I'm sitting here trying to button up my '41 right now. Hard to tell from the angles of your pics, but did you have an issue with the peak of the hood not lining up well with the top of the grill? My grill is...protruding awkwardly.
Chris White Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 The red one rocks, its the lowered stance on those "old school" wheels, nice job !!!!!
Sam I Am Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 Thanks everyone. Gluhead, the red one lined op perfect, the blue one did not. Go figure...
