Just want to get a general consencus of who makes the most accurate Monza body. The Revell body I have seems to me to be a little wide, but not knowing the 1:1 width I'd be guessing

Funny car or street version?

First there were several makers on Monza funny car bodies. Some were absolute blobs while others resembled the Monza.

Funny Car-Revell. AMT's is a blob (such as Jungle Jim's). Revell's more closely resembles a Monza. The Prudhomme body is replicated well by the Revell body. You need to see the car you're wanting to replicate.

As for a street version....I'll ask others to get involved. I know I have a started Grumpy's Monza. I choose the AMT version.

Finally if you're doing an IMSA Monza. Consider the Revell Monza although all three main line manufacturers offered one. The AMT is nice for a 70's kit but requires significant body work to mold in the fenders.

Here's a couple of pictures of both Jungle's and Snake's funny cars.

For the basic Street Body- I have the AMT kit and it really looks good to me. Correctly shaped and everything. There is some need for putty, sink marks and that kind of stuff need to be smoothed, but otherwise it's nice. It has those Stock parts, too.

I'd really like to see Monza Town Coupe as well, but....

I'm supposing your talking about Funny car Bodies, here's the Revell body I modified by shortening the rear wheel openings almost a 1/4 inch and using the monogram slicks. To me it helped the look tremendously, On my next Monza build I will also add material to the rocker panels as the body seems narrow, could be because the shorter rear wheel opening lengthened the side profile.

Yeah, Thanks for the info. I was meaning funny car body.I've seen bodies from Comp Resins and Good Stuff , are they re-pops of the Revell kit or enhanced from something else?I do agree that Amt has a good street version.

I'd also be curious to learn if any of the resin Monza funny car bodies offered have been modified/enhanced, or are straight re-pops of the Revell body.

Or maybe the AMT body?
