Erik Smith Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Great model. I like it a lot. Interesting subject.
slusher Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 That is very different but a very nice and well detailed build. Nice work Harry you have skill...
wagoneer Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Thanks for the answers to the build difficulty question. It sounds like cabinet making!
Harry P. Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Thanks for the answers to the build difficulty question. It sounds like cabinet making! Actually it is very much like that, only at a smaller scale. The wood pieces are joined with mortises and tenons, finger joints, etc. It's pretty amazing when you think of the engineering that goes into making the laser-cut pieces.
62rebel Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 your latest ventures have definitely exposed your talents beyond plastic, Harry. well done!
Modelmartin Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Very cool, Harry! That is a pretty small scale build for you but I suppose the overall size made up for it! As for the open driver's compartment - It doesn't get as cold in winter in London as it does in the midwest! It doesn't get as hot either! At least it didn't until global warming!
Lunajammer Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Nice work Harry. A lot of fiddly details that came together real well. I didn't know such a kit existed. I'm guessing the side slats are a safety measure so man or beast won't get squashed in a crowded street.

Kris Morgan Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Now that is different and very very cool. Thanks for sharing. I think it would be kinda neat to ride around in one of these.
uncle potts Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 This is an expensive kit... $400 MSRP. But I got it for a lot less, it was on sale for $220. Still not exactly cheap... but better than $400! My wife says thats a rediculous amount to pay for a model..........I don't think she gets it.
Tom Geiger Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I'm guessing the side slats are a safety measure so man or beast won't get squashed in a crowded street. And you wonder how many actually did before they came up with them!
Harry P. Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 My wife says thats a rediculous amount to pay for a model..........I don't think she gets it. You should see what I pay for some Pocher kits. This bus was a relative bargain!
cavemanx Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Wow! very nice! Didn't know you built! Hope to see more from you!
Harry P. Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 Wow! very nice! Didn't know you built! Hope to see more from you! Apparently you don't pay very close attention... I've posted tons of my models over the years. Cars, trucks, and a whole lot of "other" stuff.

Art Laski Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Very nice, Harry! The amount of work and attention to detail you have into that building that kit is not unnoticed!
Harry P. Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 Very nice, Harry! The amount of work and attention to detail you have into that building that kit is not unnoticed! Thanks, Art. I did add a bit of additional detail and scratchbuilt bits and pieces, but even straight out of the box it's a nice model.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Outstanding model, and great subject matter. I see you like the brand new look. Man, I better start paying attention. I don't know how I've missed so many of your wonderful builds, Harry.
