tabsscale1 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Wrll they did post it to facebook but i think they posted to the messenger on facebook
Chuck Most Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I'm sure that I'm not the only person that wants a '57 ford 2dr wagon with a ranchero option... You're not- I'd love one too, but I'd be hounding Revell for that particular kit.
Guest Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Wouldn't it be better for them to have it on their website also? Not everyone has a Facebook account, especially me. However, my vote would be for a nice '68 or '69 Chevelle SS396. They already have good tooling for the chassis with the '69 Olds.
Daddyfink Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I am a drag builder, so anything drag is cool, but, yes, they need to make things that will appeal to a larger audience. That is why I would ask for a 71-73 Boat tail Buick Riviera. Lots of ways to build them and one that has never been done. As Mr.Smith pointed out, everybody wants their own thing. I just want something that will sell so they can keep making kits! But for selfish reasons, I ask for kits that have a broad appeal. Like a Cheetah race car! Not only never done, but this thing would sell world wide!
Blown03SVT Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 I am pretty sure it isn't bogus. There may be some difficulty with the way the link is posted, or with browser settings. If you have a facebook account forget the link and do a search for round 2 models. I do agree most people want very special items but eventually alot of people tend to ask for similar items. Think of all the kits that were not main stream over the years. Because 10 years old want to build Hudsons, or Edsels...? No, the seasoned builders asked for kits like these long enough and they were rewarded when they finally made it to production. If the question is out there at to what new kits you would like to see, what could it hurt to throw you input out there?
sjordan2 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 That cannot be a real facebook page, my filter blocks access to facebook unless it is turned off, and it is not off, and I had access to that page. I would beware of it. Everything I get when accessing them via my own Facebook page shows that it's legit. http://www.facebook.com/Round2Models
bandit1 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) However, my vote would be for a nice '68 or '69 Chevelle SS396. Why? Revell already has a 68' Chevelle! Edited January 22, 2013 by bandit1
Rob Hall Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Why? Revell already has a 68' Chevelle! ????
Blown03SVT Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 Why? Revell already has a 68' Chevelle! Not so sure about that. RM did the 65 Z16, 1966 Street Machine, 1967 SS/ Pro Street, and the 1970 SS/ Street Machine. AMT (MPC?)Did the 1968, 69, 71 and 72 I think. Several people asked for a 73 Chevelle or Laguna S-3. That would be a pretty awesome kit. The Collanade cars haven't recieved much love in plastic form. I would have rather of had those than Chevettes, Omni's and Escorts like MPC kitted.
LDO Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 The problem with asking individuals what kits they want is everybody has their own pet projects. People want to build the <insert year> <insert obscure, off brand car here> that few others would care to have. When you solicit ideas with no constraints you will inevitably end up with a huge list of wildly different ideas and subjects. In short, it's useless. Most people don't look at the situation beyond themselves - "I would love a model of..." - and NOT "here's model will the MOST people want and has multiple building options and opportunities for additional kits. Just about every thread ever started on this subject gets as many requests as there are posts. That being said, I will go on their FB site and request something with four doors and a wagon of some sort as well as a mid-seventies economy car that wasn't even popular when new. AMEN. Good grief, what percent of the reponses are of the "build the boring sedan I drove to high school" variety??
disabled modeler Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 67,68,69 70 Bonneville HTs, 68,69 Cornet, 70s Chevy mini motor home camper van, early 70s Dodge window van, 70 Ford (LTD) 4door HT.
Fabrux Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 67,68,69 70 Bonneville HTs, 68,69 Cornet, 70s Chevy mini motor home camper van, early 70s Dodge window van, 70 Ford (LTD) 4door HT. Didn't that just get reissued as the Police Interceptor?
Brett Barrow Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 You're not- I'd love one too, but I'd be hounding Revell for that particular kit. Yeah, seeing how they just released a brand new 57 ford kit that already has the correct wheelbase for wagons and Rancheros. I've got a good feeling about them doing a Ranch Wagon. A very good feeling...
Brett Barrow Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) Bearing in mind that Round 2 also issues and reissues a lot of sci-fi and monster stuff, here's one that seems to be gathering support on their Facebook page. There have been some limited-edition and hugely expensive built models, all hard to find. Disney licensing fees might sink the idea, but I'm in. Interesting that I couldn't find any movie stills online. The Disney copyright police must be doing an excellent job. Been a longtime rumor floating around inside the industry that someone's working on that. I've got a good feeling it might happen sometime in the next year or two. impcon Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 How about a fresh '58 Ford kit - retractable, hardtop or convertible to compliment the new '57 by Revell? And you can add a '59 hardtop and convertible to that. Or maybe a REAL 73-79 Ford pickup in half ton form and not the Super Camper Special that AMT released 'way back when..???

Carve that in stone. Those type of threads grow like weeds.
Guest Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Why? Revell already has a 68' Chevelle! Revell does NOT have a '68 Chevelle. AMT made a '68 that was converted to the '69,but it leaves a lot to be desired. Round2 could pull off a '68 or '69 fairly easily.
John Goschke Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 A corrected body for the '58 Plymouth Belvedere kit would make me happy.
Blown03SVT Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) Initially I didn't start the thread to end up as another I wish for a....... I just wanted to let guys who build know that round 2 was looking for input. I may live in a fantasy world but I do believe the guys that handle new projects and marketing surf these boards to see what the next big new kit or reissue could be. Where SAE (not SAM) used to do the top 10 most requested kits the manufactures did listen. Sure it took time but I believe there is never a better time than now to be a car modeler. Between the new technology and the restoration of old tooling for re-issues the variety is greater than it ever has been. Edited January 22, 2013 by Blown03SVT

Junkman Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 That'll do me for this year, thank you. The ones I want next year I'll post in September.

Maybe it's a mobile thing. Works just fine on my iMac with Safari, but not with my daughter's iPhone on Google Chrome.
